You’re welcome for respecting tradition by allowing your band to play. Not every school is that classy anymore.
It's crazy our band traveled to Kentucky and wasn't allowed to play pre game or at half time on the field. Its almost like the home team calls the shots? Weird.
As I said, not every school is classy enough to be so inclusive and celebratory of the arts.
I know where both schools stand on this issue. I'm thankful knowing that Bowling Green is on the right side of history. Can't say the same for everyone.

Why is this guy bragging about how much his school sucks? Weird.

There aren't many good things about Toledo to say. Makes it hard. I get it, I'd be mad too if my school sucked.
Even the good things about Toledo (mostly just the Walleye) are dominated by our Falcons.

I'm not sure this is making the point you're intending it to make.
The point is no one is butt hurt but BG people If youre the visitor why would you expect anything? We didnt go to the media every time our band traveled but didnt play. Its a half and half proposition. And if we are told in April other stuff is going on that halftime isnt happening, we have the choice to bring our band or not. Tradition is fine. Good for BG by thinking theyre taking the high road by letting their rival play... The fanbase could give two craps outside of actual band members, and theyre used to not playing if the circumstances prevent it from happening.

It's very funny that he admits Toledo doesn't care for their band. I get it, they're mediocre. There's nothing good about that university, but we'll still let them play because it's the right thing to do. It always has been.
However, our band is special. They're the biggest in the country. They just marched in Ireland. They're in the Parade of Roses in 2027. BG fans care about the FMB, not just band members or parents. Just like every other part of our university, the band has positive momentum - I understand why Mr. "Declining Enrollment Despite A 92% Acceptance Rate" is mad, they don't have the momentum we do. It's pure jealousy.

When your marching band can do this, come back and brag. Until then, go back to living in your mom's basement.
Find me bragging about the Cheerleaders when our basketball team loses. Give me a break. This is a football thread. Yall brought up the bands and it obviously gets under your skin. Toledo owns BG in the big 3 sports and yall know it. Call me when your ceiling is above 8 wins.

Big 3 sports? When did Toledo get hockey?
Just facts - BG has won 2 of the past 3 in football and 2 of the past 3 in men’s basketball. I’m assuming you’re calling WBB the 3rd piece of the big 3 - and BG won that last matchup, too. BG has won ALL of the most recent matchups in the “Big 3” you’re yapping about. So you don’t even know what you’re saying.
You talk about getting under someone’s skin. Makes me laugh. One thing I’ll never be - a big enough loser to start a trash talking thread on someone else’s board.
When you hire Mike Jinks and set your own program into a free fall for no reason other than incompetence, you tend to latch on to what you have. Toledo fans are just jealous that BGSU has fully embraced the very little Ohio State approach in everything. We just copycat it all and to a much much lesser actual result.
Pretty simple for me this weekend. Coach George wants to play smash mouth football, which I love. We run the ball effectively on the scuds, we'll have an excellent chance of winning. BG has been tested more with a tougher schedule, to this point. Cincy is 4-1, fresh off a win over #22 Iowa State. Louisville is 4-1, only loss last week in OT to Virginia. Ohio is still a solid team, no question. But they sheet the bed in Muncie last weekend so there's that. Liberty hasn't been as good as I thought they would be at 1-4. Lafayette is a solid 4-1 so far with a loss only to Princeton. They do still play at Oregon State.
Tsun has beaten WKU, Morgan State and Akron while losing at Kentucky and WMU. They have solid talent, always do. But they are beatable like anyone else in this league. For a dude that makes over a mil a year, Candle gets less outta his teams than most. The Doyt is gonna be packed and loud. If Pyne can manage the game and avoid the mistakes he made at OU, we'll be in great shape. Running the ball effectively will take a ton of pressure off him. Defensively, we will have a challenge but I love the way the new kids battle. They get burned and the next play answer with a good play. We never stop fighting. When you pressure Gleason, he can be really poor. That is the key on D...get in his grill. Our Run D is decent...enough to contain tsun, imo. But damn it, watch the TE crosses. tsun has been using the TE's well over the years and OU really exposed us on that.
Special teams...no question, BG is better. I look for lower scoring game, actually, and a 23-17 BG win.
BEAT tsun

BGSU-12 TIME MAC CHAMPION
FALCON FOOTBALL ROCKS!
I do think Toledo's going to win this weekend, so I'll enjoy these last few days (of the 695 or however many days since they beat us), and I'll enjoy the fact that our men's and women's bkb teams also currently have winning streaks against them. But, back to football ... serious question: Why is it that, every time I turn on a Toledo game, they're reviewing a play for possible targeting on the Rockets?

Mike Jinks?
Are we going to revisit the decion to hire women's bball coach Dee Knoblauch next?
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
