Athletics Hall of Fame

Post by 1987alum »

After reading the press releases about the new inductees for the BGSU Hall of Fame, I wondered who else was in it. Well, good luck finding out. I searched for several minutes and gave up.

Doesn't the university have a nice Web site for the Hall of Fame. If not, why not?

Its in the media guide, so it shouldn't be too hard for them to turn into a web-viewable piece.... there's alot of names, otherwise I'd give a shot at transcribing. Scanning the media guide hasn't worked too well in the past.

Anyway we could get this idea in front of the folks at the Athletic Department? Sounds like a great job for an intern!

HOF

Post by NY-BG-FAN »

Yeah...it's always frusturated me that there is nothing on the internet for our hall of fame. Here are a few notables though, most of which are pretty obvious

Baseball:
Orel Hershiser
Roger McDowell
Larry Owen
Football:
Brian McClure (Buffalo Bills Draft Pick, Harris got to most of his passing records, I think)
Don Nehland (spelling?) (Legendary WVU coach after he left BG)
Hockey:
Rob Blake
Mark Wells (1980 Gold Medalist)
Ken Morrow (1980 Gold Medalist)
1984 Nat'l Champion Team
Jerry York (1984 Coach, coaches at BC now)
(Don't know if Holzinger is in yet, if not you would have to figure it would be pretty soon)
B-Ball:
Nate Thurmond

I know there are more notables but it's late and I'm tired :?

I was putzing around the official athletics site, and it appears they've now posted the list of members in the Hall of Fame. The link is off the main site in the orange column on the left side.

It's in PDF format.
