@ Lake Superior State (10/24-25)

Post by mbenecke »

Following an exhibition win that seemed to show our potential when we're playing our game, our Falcons (0-2-0) now head to Lake Superior State to take on the Lakers (2-2-0) to open CCHA play. LSSU comes into this one with 2 road wins against Stonehill, 2 home losses against Lindenwood where they gave up 12 goals over that weekend, and then 2 exhibition wins this past weekend. So, hard to tell much about that team so far. Friday's game will be at 7:07pm, Saturday's game at 6:07pm, both games available to stream on Midco.

It would be huge to start on the right foot in league play this weekend, but it'll be tough on the road. Guess we'll see what happens, I don't feel like I have a real handle on this team yet.

Go Falcons! Beat LSSU.

Latest marketing video. While it's interesting in its own way, what's important is that both Stjernberg and Norris dressed and participated in the preceding practice.

First period is in the books, 0-0. We killed off two penalties. Looked decent. No trouble carrying the puck through the NZ. Not a ton of grade A chances for either side.

It's a WIN! 4-1.

Rymon gets his first, Grant adds 2, Levis gets the SH-ENG for his first.

Much better effort and structure tonight, plus two power play goals. Get the sweep tomorrow.

We wore them down and took over in the third. Thankfully they had their second goal overturned ‘cause that guy put some moves on our defense. The Laker broadcasters are whining about picks/interference in the NZ.

The irony before finishing the sentence, LSSU used a vet obvious pick to cross the blueline.

Anyways, 45-29 SOG, with BG blocking 8 and LSSU blocking 21. 2/4 on the powerplay, 4/5 on the penalty kill, and 36-27 on faceoffs. And Willy successfully challenged a goal for offsides (I truly think that might be his first here).

Norris was in but I didn't see Stjernberg. Giving up only 1 goal without him is a plus.

Stjernberg, Niedermayer, Pfoh, Scott, Zlnka, and Higgins were all scratched.
