Did you miss the double faceoff violation? That's not even a judgement call. Martin getting cross-checked in the face Friday night, only to be sent off for "embellishment"? Pfoh gets 2 minutes for "facemasking," when we saw worse multiple times last week with no call made. I have no problem with penalties being called, but call them both ways, and be consistent from game to game. It's not that freaking hard.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 4:25 am
Apparently somewhere that BG never gets called for penalties, since every game the league has it out for them. They play an undisciplined game. It's getting trolling level now calling out the officials each weekend.

Hard to be mad about a 3 point weekend in Mankato. This team is frustrating in that they are clearly pretty talented in a lot of areas but it feels like they lack the aggressive mindset unless they’re being pests or playing undisciplined hockey.
I continue to believe they are growing and learning to play within Willy’s structure, and that they should be peaking at the right time when March rolls around. Fingers crossed that they get there. We’re entering a softer portion of the schedule, and then it picks back up for the run in at the end of the regular season. Let’s hope we can start stacking some wins and ride that momentum into the 2nd half.

So we go into Mankato and basically gift them the first game. We come from behind in the last minute, play to a draw, lose a shootout. The second game we play them even up the entire way, win the shootout. If we don't gift them those two goals in the first on Friday we're walking away with 4 or 5 points. If we don't gift them those two goals, they only scored 3 all weekend. This is supposedly the #16 team in the nation according to the polls and the class of the CCHA according to the Prognosticators. Wuuuuut? NFW the Mavs are as good as everyone thinks, we just saw it with out own eyes. And while we've gotten better, we have a ways to go. Our ceiling is still a lot higher than the Mavs.
Here I am going "Grrrrrr" over a 3-3 point split in Mankato. I'll go seek professional help now.

Group is definitely able to play more consistently. There's some lack of engagement it seems until things get a little testy. Still struggling in getting the puck up ice as well. Never going to complain about getting a split in Mankato, however the program needs to start putting together some regulation wins if they want to host playoff games.mbenecke wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 11:37 am Hard to be mad about a 3 point weekend in Mankato. Wasn't sure it was exactly a faceoff violation. Seemed like a mistimed drop by the linesman. Pfoh got called because the officials warned both benches about the after the whistle stuff and he does something stupid. Going to struggle to win games if you spend 20% of them shorthanded.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 5:11 amDid you miss the double faceoff violation? That's not even a judgement call. I can't watch the games but hard to complain about a 3 point road weekend. We continue to get points and even though it's early in the season it seems we can play with anyone in the ccha. Really need to take advantage of the conference schedule for the next two months

Strand did a lot of whining in his post game presser saying crap like if he were the other team he too would be mucking it up after the whistle in an effort to get their best players off the ice (implications: to make things more even because we all know about the awesomeness of the Mavs). “One team is celebrating the split while the other has a bad taste in their mouth” (I’m paraphrasing here). Get used to it, you’re not as good as you think you are.
We played those guys straight up even steven in their barn for 6 periods plus two overtimes and I think we all agree this weekend showed a lot of flaws in our game. If we can get our heads a) screwed on straight and b) out of our arses we could win some games.

Did he miss his guys acting like goons shoving Gus and trying to start something after their goal last night? Dickweed.
I’m tired of the moral superiority complex people in Mankato and Houghton like to have about their guys.

Winning begets moral superiority. Can't argue they've both owned the league since its reincarnation.

Obviously a morally superior program would bring in Austen “I steal shoes” Swankler.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 8:38 pmWinning begets moral superiority. Can't argue they've both owned the league since its reincarnation.
