I’m also wearing them when it comes to the unlimited posts about the cat and the crowds an everything else besides what’s actually on the field. You aren’t entirely off base with your criticisms.

Just choosing to be positive. Not much else going for us in the football department right now.

Why were they in a hurry up offense with just over a minute left and two timeouts? They were in field goal range. Made no sense, A touchdown wins the game, I get it but with a forth string quarterback he needed to just settle down.

I genuinely feel bad for Najm. He never asked or expected to be the starter this year, and people are ruthlessly criticizing him on social media. Like, he's a 20 year old kid who came here for an education and to play a little football. This mess isn't his fault at all. There is zero reason for the personal attacks I am seeing online.

Yeah that made very little sense given that a) our best bet had been the rush attack all night, and b) we still had plenty of time and timeouts

Do we have competitive money, though? Like, in order to get recruits and build a successful program, NIL money is now officially a requirement. Are we pretending we're flush with cash? Hard to win without that stuff. I don't love the excuse, but it's crazy to not acknowledge that as a massive piece of the puzzle.

(Also, anyone with eyes could tell you the turf looked awful on TV last night and needs replaced. It's been a decade now, it's time.)

Of course it’s time to replace the turf. But they said 5 year plan on Loeffler to get competitive. Here is a crazy concept. Win. No cats needed. No impressions. Just winning against programs in the MAC who care way more about basketball.

IT was sold as this panacea of how much money we'd save to not have actual grass to maintain, while at the same time they replaced acres of gravel parking lots with grass (don't get me wrong, I actually love the grassy areas for tailgating and the soccer tournaments, etc).

I very much question the numbers that say turf is cheaper than grass when it's life expectancy is only 10 yrs. Sure maybe they play a few more HS games on it now, but I can't imagine they're bringing much money in. The data is pretty sound that grass is a safer playing surface. Players prefer grass. Fans prefer grass.

I'm dating myself here, but I maintained the grass field at my high school in 2004 and 2005 (Ag Science for the win) and it was rather labor intensive. Mowing, line painting, patching/re-sodding, treatments to guard against disease, etc. Turf is easier to manage if you take care of it (brushing, air rating, raking, sweeping every 4-6 weeks). The Doyt turf is missing a lot of colored fibers which is why it looks terrible at the midfield logo and endzones. The infill looked like it was clumping up from the rain as well. I can't imagine it's a fun surface to play on at the moment.

Here is an idea. Have the coaches and administrators start chipping in towards the new turf. The longer you have coached at BGSU the more you should be willing to give back. It's much more productive than whining about resources.

The hurry-up seemed to be more on Najm than anything else. There was a sense of nervous anxiousness coming from him on that final drive, not recognizing the situation and the score. Perhaps the poor play calling factored into that. Unfortunately you're going to see that with a 4th stringer. Honestly was surprised Lucian didn't play at all given Eddie specifically mentioned he would get some time at his weekly press conference.

Turf replacement should be a budgeted capital expense by the department every "XX" number of years (assuming ten since that's how long the last surface lasted). If it's not then there are way bigger problems going on. I'd be floored if it isn't replaced in the spring/summer.
