vs. Princeton (11/28-29)
This weekend, our Falcons (5-4-3) return home to the Slate to take on the Princeton Tigers (5-2) in a break from conference play after 5 straight weekends against CCHA teams. Friday night's game will begin at 7:07pm, with Saturday night's action starting at 6:07pm. Both games will be available to stream on Midco.
GA tickets for both nights are $3, and parking is free all weekend, so this is a great opportunity to get out to the rink and support the boys. Tickets are going fast this weekend, especially for Friday night - tip of the cap to the athletic department for making tickets cheaper and parking free for a game that would likely otherwise be poorly attended, with students off campus for the holiday.
Princeton has won 3 in a row, and their home/road splits are drastic - they are undefeated at home, but winless on the road this season. They should provide an interesting test for us.
Go Falcons! Beat Princeton.

On Friday, Princeton forward Kai Daniells scored five goals in the team's 7-4 win over St. Lawrence. This was the first time a player had scored five goals in a college hockey game since 2011. He also tied a Princeton program record. Gotta watch out for that guy.

Re: vs. Princeton (11/28-29)
This looks like a good Princeton team (15th in NPI) and may be the best non-conference team on the schedule, which is a helluva statement given it includes Ohio State and Notre Dame. Unfortunate there will probably be a minimal student body presence given the holiday weekend, hopefully the special ticket pricing will make up for it.

From Willy's interview with Clint this morning it sounds likely that Gus will miss the Princeton series as well.

I'll be shocked to see him before the U18 game. There's just no reason to risk further injury these next 4 games.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Tue Nov 25, 2025 1:13 pm From Willy's interview with Clint this morning it sounds likely that Gus will miss the Princeton series as well.

Have an extra GA ticket for Friday's game if anyone wants it.

This is going to be an interesting one tonight. The afternoon high school game was postponed due to the Zamboni blowing up on the ice. The backup Zamboni froze up with one lap remaining after warmups. They unfroze and finished, but will probably be a concern all night.

Iain Duncan took advantage of the $3 tickets and free parking to show up tonight. 1-0 BG on a goal in the first 90 seconds. We tilted the iceninmour favor to start but it’s been pretty even since. Each goalie has made a breakaway save.

And Gus is sitting one row in front of us at the break. Same hand as before, but it’s just wrapped, not in a hard cast.

Great second period. 4-0. Outshooting them 2-1. Killed off a 5 min major. Palmer has made some good saves. We chased their goalie at the halfway commercial break.
Finish strong.

Fun one to be at! Official attendance was 3,135. Really strong crowd for a holiday weekend without students or a band in the building.
We’ll take a 4-1 win in non-conference play any day.

Ice was terrible as a result. Don't think they actually cut the ice between periods, just flooded the rink and hoped for the best.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 28, 2025 6:58 pm This is going to be an interesting one tonight. As for the game, Princeton was pretty clearly overmatched for most of the night. End of the game was a bit disappointing as BG took their foot off the gas. Hopefully that doesn't lead to momentum for them into tomorrow.

Talked briefly with Gus. Yeah, he’s shut down for now but could go if it were playoffs. He should be good for OSU.

1-1 halfway through the first. Niedermayer got the scoring started before Princeton tied it.
