2026 Transfer Portal
Almost time for the silly season of college football to begin once again. The portal window for 2026 has been amended to January 2-12. Players at schools who terminate head coaches will still have a 30-day window to transfer.
BG has offered DB Kanye Thompson out of Slippery Rock. Runs a 10.13 100-meter. Has other offers from Ball State, Charlotte, Marshall, Missouri State, Pitt, Syracuse, and Tulsa.

Re: 2026 Transfer Portal
I think there will be heavy turnover on the offensive side. I hope most of the defensive guys stick around because I saw a ton of potential there (if they shape up on the discipline). I am under the impression we have stored away a decent amount of NIL funds for next season (as far as the MAC goes), so my judgement for the staff will be withheld until we get into next year.

DB Hayes Doggan has entered the portal - he came to BG this past offseason from Northwest Missouri State. Don't recall seeing him get any playing time this year.

Offer for DB Asa Locks (great name for a defensive back). Was an FCS All-American last year.

Offer in for DB Quinn Wills from Grand Valley State. Was honorable mention all-GLIAC with 55 tackles and 6 PBUs this season. Has an official visit planned with Tulsa in the near future.

Agreed. The D has actually played decently even with all the injuries. Just need more of a pass rush...BillyLP wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 5:50 pm I think there will be heavy turnover on the offensive side. It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: 2026 Transfer Portal
Reserve LB Justin Eklund is hitting the transfer portal. 7 tackles and a fumble recovery in 7 games this year after playing in 12 games a season ago. Originally came over after playing 2 years at San Jose State.
Best of luck to him!

Re: 2026 Transfer Portal
Best wishes to him - speculating this means they're making a push to keep Dendy and make him the feature back.

Re: 2026 Transfer Portal
Was going to say the same thing. Especially with Pettaway being able to fill a similar role as McMillan. Best of luck to him. Could see him landing somewhere in the MAC or Sun Belt.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 03, 2025 10:06 amBest wishes to him - speculating this means they're making a push to keep Dendy and make him the feature back.
