The calendar badly needs fixed, too.
First things first, move the coaching carousel to after the season. Make it a rule, nobody can poach anybody that’s active until after the national title game. That was nobody gets caught in between and has to choose between jobs.
I’d ditch early signing day - very stupid that it’s currently in the middle of conference championship week. Make signing day the traditional February date.
They moved to one portal window, in January - I would’ve moved to one portal window, but in April, after spring ball. That way guys aren’t making emotional decisions right after the season ends and they at least stay and fight for their spot to see where they are in spring practice before making the decision to stay or go.
I feel like those are easy tweaks that would make things so much less chaotic. It doesn’t solve the portal an NIL, but it helps a bunch.
