vs. Northern Michigan (12/5-6)
Re: vs. Northern Michigan (12/5-6)
I do not think the sky is falling as bad as some are reacting on here.
Was it a bad loss? Absolutely!
….. is this team automatically to be lumped in with all the 3rd and 4th place BG teams of the last decade? I don’t think so, this team is more talented than most of those teams.
You are you going to get some games in the CCHA, especially against lesser teams, where they are going to clutch and grab it up and if the refs don’t call it then you get what we somewhat had last night. Their goalie also played really well in the third.
NMU’s record is bad, but it is not like they’ve been getting blown out by 4 or 5 goals every game. They have played many tight games against good teams and come up short. They outworked BG and some bounces finally went their way. Kudos to them.
The big question now is how does this young team react. Do they raise their effort level to come out with a win? Willy said it is a must win going into the break. I guess we’ll see, but this team is much more talented than teams we’ve had recently, especially upfront. It has been a while since we’ve had players with talent like Rymon and Morneau etc.. these guys are still learning how to play NCAA hockey at this point.
Get a good game out of Steinman tonight with increased effort as well and they should finish the first half on a good note.

Can anyone think of a more annoying, obnoxious visiting fan than “Go Cats Go” guy?

Minville gets a goal and BG goes ahead 1-0 with 53 seconds to play in the first.

And now we take a 5 minute major in the middle of the 2nd.
We are soooooooo undisciplined. Willy hasn’t helped to address that at all.

Lose this game and it's a weekend that can easily take the rest of the season off the rails. Grossly disappointing.

Won it in OT. OT win feels good but 2 of 6 points this weekend is not good enough.
Bring back the glory!
