DB Gavin Harris has entered the portal. 2025 3-star recruit, don't believe he played at all this past season.

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Curious where he ends up as I feel he's a bit undersized to play a starting role at a P4 program.

Re: 2026 Transfer Portal
The way the system is every player should really enter the portal to explore their options and get on the best foot to negotiate with their old team. Loeffler was great at getting these guys to return. Lets hope this is the casejpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 2:45 pmCurious where he ends up as I feel he's a bit undersized to play a starting role at a P4 program.

Re: 2026 Transfer Portal
I truly don't understand how a guy who has played 3 full seasons, had a true redshirt year, and had a year where he played in 3 games would have any business having more eligibility left, but the NCAA seems to just let anyone play for as long as they want now. I'm assuming his case argues that the year he only played 3 games should be a redshirt year, as well. He was listed as having 0 years left on the depth chart this year.
Rooting for his success, of course. He's given us 5 loyal years here.
But NCAA eligibility is pretty absurd anymore. Nobody knows anything definitively anymore, because the system is incredibly broken.

Re: 2026 Transfer Portal
This stems from Vanderbilt's Langston Patterson filing a class action lawsuit on Monday challenging the NCAA's redshirt rule alleging it violates antitrust laws. In a nutshell the lawsuit is challenging that regardless if you redshirt or not, since the NCAA gives "five years to play four" that everyone should be granted five years of eligibilty since redshirting restricts NIL opportunities. Since Nate redshirted his freshman season, it looks like he's hoping against hope to take advantage of this and get a 5th year. Feels like a longshot and personally I wouldn't be touching these guys if I were a head coach.mbenecke wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 9:16 amI truly don't understand how a guy who has played 3 full seasons, had a true redshirt year, and had a year where he played in 3 games would have any business having more eligibility left, but the NCAA seems to just let anyone play for as long as they want now.
