vs. Chicago State (12/16)

Post by mbenecke »

After absolutely stuffing Aquinas in a locker, (in a way that some on here might compare to what a senior would do to a 6th grader), our Falcons (7-3) return home looking for another win at the Stroh Center as they host the Chicago State Cougars (1-9). Game is on Tuesday, December 16th at 7:00pm on ESPN+.

GA tickets as cheap as $8. Why not bring the family out next Tuesday night?

Go Falcons! Let's beat this team and brag about it online!

This team is 1-9. We'd need to beat them by 50 to not go down in kenpom.

Game is tomorrow night.

Kenpom - BG is 113th, Chicago State is 349th.
NET - BG is 86th, Chicago State is 322nd.

We need to win this game and leave no doubt. MAC play starts on Saturday.

Saw them play at Butler last month. They are just a bad team. They appeared to quit early when they got behind. Butler coasted. They could have won by 50.
Most of their losses have been by double figures. They are coming off their first win against a D1 team

Going for win #8 tonight - we didn't get to 8 wins until February 4th last year.

This team has potential but why again are we so bad from beyond the arc? Three point shooting will be our downfall.

BG leads by 12 at halftime. Strong start, lull in the middle, strong finish.

Gotta stay on the gas here. No reason this needs to become a competitive game in the 2nd half.

Got a little more competitive down the stretch than it probably should have. Definitely the worst game Campbell has had all season. STruggled shooting from deep even getting open looks for Wol. Then just long 4-5 min stretches over and over again where we seemed to just lose interest.

Ruffin hit a big 3 after they cut it to 8 late, then it never got close again. We didn't play particularly well, but that team is awful. Tough to play with the requisite intensity all night. Tons of real good ball movement though, especially from Thomas with Campbell missing so much time with foul trouble.

Towns came down awkward on his ankle in the first half and was hobbled but returned to play normal minutes and was pretty good. Hopefully he's good to go.

Ruffin & Wol can shoot. But this whole group has been so streaky. That's going to be the bugaboo. Making sure those 2 are the ones we're getting the bulk of our deep ball looks from and hopefully they can show some consistency. The shooting numbers tend to get real ugly when those guys aren't great and we start seeing Leach, Shackleford, and Towns shoot too much.
