Late Sat. Games
Would games that start at 7 p.m or 8 p.m. mean less fans from farther away because of the long travel home at a late time? I have heard that battle against them.
I don't see a big problem w/ a game or two during the week, except the fact that a lot of people would just rather stay home and watch it on tv than head out to the game and see it in person.

Re: Late Sat. Games
For those of you who live close to or in BG, the 'late nite' games aren't a problem...for those of us from the Cleve. area, for example, means we don't get home til 1am or later...I do it, but usually have to drive "alone" because whoever comes with me usually falls asleep. I still would like to see some true AFTERNOON football, even starting at 2pm or so... tired of the excuses that it's "too early" for the students who are sleeping off Fri. nite parties etc. Plus, the weather USUALLY is a bit more favorable at this time of day than at nite.... November games in particular, would be wise to start earlier, rather than later. Remember the E.Mich. game of a few yrs. ago, Ed, Michelle and Mike?duckunder53 wrote:Would games that start at 7 p.m or 8 p.m. mean less fans from farther away because of the long travel home at a late time? Re: Late Sat. Games
I am with you 61. I hate going to the games that start when it is dark. It is so much nicer to watch a game in the afternoon sun. Especially in November. Anyone who says they can't get out of bed by 1pm is FOS. Their real excuse is they are watching another game on TV.Class of 61 wrote: For those of you who live close to or in BG, the 'late nite' games aren't a problem...for those of us from the Cleve. area, for example, means we don't get home til 1am or later...I do it, but usually have to drive "alone" because whoever comes with me usually falls asleep. I don't know there have been many days in my life when I didn't roll outta bed util much after 1:00 PM. I would force myself up in order to get to a BG football game, but I'm not necessarily like some other people.kdog27 wrote:I am with you 61. I hate going to the games that start when it is dark. For 18-25 year olds sleeping until noon or later is not uncommon on weekends.
I live less than 5 minutes from the Doyt, so I don't have the same issues that '61, etc, do, but I'm much in favor of games starting later. Again I like to sleep till 10:00 or so, tailgate for 6-8 hours, watch all the afternoon games in the parking lot, then go into the BG game. I can understand why those travelling might not feel the same way. I think that's why they go with the 6:00 starts. Its a happy medium, although it sucks if there is a good game on at 3:30 that you have to miss the 2nd half of

Oh yeah, that one was a doozie. 10 degrees, piles of snow, 63-21. I like the 4 pm kickoff times during Oct and Nov but love the 6 or 7 pm times in September. Just don't make it noon!Class of 61 wrote:For those of you who live close to or in BG, the 'late nite' games aren't a problem...for those of us from the Cleve. area, for example, means we don't get home til 1am or later...I do it, but usually have to drive "alone" because whoever comes with me usually falls asleep. BOOOO!!! Thursday night fits much better into my work schedule. Or rather, "lack of work schedule". Though I guess it DOES give me a target date to sack up and buy a TiVo, huh?AJatBG wrote: He said the Boise St. game is definately on a Wed Night and they are still trying to get on TV as much as possible.

I was targetting the Temple game as our roadie, but now that it's slated as the HC game, I'm having serious second thoughts.rollalongFF0304 wrote:The Homecoming game on October 1 is against Temple.

For what its worth, The BG News is organizing a reunion.
(Does that sweeten the pot?)
