I'll never fault a defenseman for playing a physical game. None of the hits have been malicious. There's onus on the other player to also protect himself. I understand why they're cracking down on the boarding calls, but officials need to pay attention to intent.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 30, 2026 9:44 pmGoose was engaged with the player the entire time. 99% of the time, the player actually cares about his health and gets rode into the boards standing up. He tried to stop and brace himself. His right foot turning is plain as day on the replay.
That's two very weak 5 minute major-game misconduct calls in two games. Now, have to hope the league will overturn the one from Bemidji last Saturday, or he's out for tomorrow. He had one at the end of the LSSU game.

I suppose we’ll take the tie and the shootout “win” given how scrambled last night’s effort was. You could tell in the first 10 minutes that it wasn’t going to be perfect, but our guys were resilient on the road and at least earned the draw.
Big one back at home tonight. Huge opportunity in what should be an electric atmosphere. Gotta get the first goal and get the crowd in it from the jump.
UPDATE: Doors will open at 4:45pm for tonight’s home game due to the cold in the forecast and their hope to get people inside quicker instead of being lined out the door.

Except they're not cracking down on anything. The hit that's taken Norris out for two weeks was unpenalized, and not reviewed. An injury like that should have at least warranted an unchallenged look at the monitor.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 30, 2026 9:49 pm

Not the outcome I was hoping for, but the tie isn’t the end of the world. Only cost us one spot in NPI, but we need to get a regulation win tonight if we have any hope of making a run at an at-large bid.
Watching the game, I didn’t think that Notre Dame was super good, but we allowed them to dictate the game. You saw their speed on display especially in the third and the OT, but they play pretty recklessly and make a lot of dumb decisions with the puck. We simply can’t continue to allow them to enter the zone with speed. When they do, they’re pretty dangerous.
Couple keys for tonight’s game. One: clog up the neutral zone and make them earn their zone time. Can’t let them skate around and make plays with impunity. Two: play to our style of play and force Notre Dame to adapt. Last night felt like the opposite. And three: get the puck in deep. They seemed to struggle with our forecheck.
Gonna be a rocking atmosphere tonight….probably better than for the OSU game. Be nice to get a big win. Not just for the team, but for the community.

If you need a ticket for tonight the cheapest get on Seat Geek is $189 for a single ticket. You read that right. For a hockey game in Bowling Green, OH. Good thing the Nachos don't consider us a hockey school <eyeroll>.

You may need to move the slider bar to the right to get past the "are you a bot?" prompt.

Even more so with the Walleye being home tonight. Two rinks within 25 miles of each other will have a combined 13,500 people at them. Hockey is alive and well in NW Ohio.Bgsu2016 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 10:16 amJust crazy to me that demand is actually this highTalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 10:10 am If you need a ticket for tonight the cheapest get on Seat Geek is $189 for a single ticket. I'm aware, was at that meeting. I was giving them crap for the sake of giving them crap. Yeah, it was a lame comment...pdt1081 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 11:06 amBG rejected the NCHC when they came calling.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 10:10 am If you need a ticket for tonight the cheapest get on Seat Geek is $189 for a single ticket. Hour before puck drop, and already a lot of people in the building. Definitely feel the energy already. Place is gonna be rocking.

Looks like the league overturned one of Stjernberg's Game Misconducts. He is on the ice tonight!

Absolutely ABSURD offsetting minors there. What did Quinn even do wrong?

BG takes a penalty, ND immediately get a goal.
At some point we need to be more disciplined if we’re ever going to take the next step as a program.

2-1 Irish after a turnover and odd-man rush. Been an ugly period.
