2-2 after 40 minutes. BG will have 2 minutes on the powerplay when the third period starts.

Nope. Only lasted a minute and then we took a roughing call. Because we can never stay out of our own way.

A draw, and then a pretty pathetic shootout effort. Nobody scored until the 8th round, and then ND finally broke through. It’s unreal that we still don’t have the ability to score goals 1v1 like that.

Whatever. 2 ties in a series that should’ve been 2 wins. Gonna have to be a lot better in February if we’re going to even get home ice.

My take is that we played really well both games. We have as much if not more skill than they do. Their size was the difference. McKinley was bouncing off guys all weekend. If we have a team of Sloan's and Krodiuk's with the talent of Morneau and Higgins we're a fearsome opponent. The good news: there isn't a CCHA team with the size of ND so this was a pretty good weekend.

Well said. That’s really the toughest thing about the B1G teams, they’re just absolutely huge out there. I’m not a small guy and they absolutely towered over me in the hallway

Take out Ferris State because we season series swept them.

BG is 3-4-3 when facing teams in the bottom 10 of college hockey. That's how you never get in the NCAA tournament or win league titles. This weekend was part of that. Should of, would of, could of.....maybe that recruiting was overrated, I don't know, but good teams don't go only 500 or just below 500 against bottom feeder team.

Definitely hurts more in CCHA play. The NMU series was inexcusable. Threw away several points there. CCHA is likely a one-bid league this year regardless of what happens. The top teams are essentially trading wins against one another.

They quite aren’t there yet sir. We saw it against ND, BG just doesn’t quite have the speed and size to run other teams out of the rink yet

Odd that you would remove 4 games from that stat just because they won them. 7-4-3 is with those 4 games added back in. And 14-6-6 overall. Which means 7-2-3 against better competition. Almost like the bottom teams are allowed to play in a way to keep games close (things that make you go hmmmm).

Fact is, there's 8 games left in the regular season. BG currently sits 23rd, with all 8 games against teams currently higher than them. To say that's rare in this CCHA era is the greatest understatement. It just doesn't happen. But here we are. Half the league in the top 25. Split out, and most likely that's how it finishes. 6 of 8 and you're real close to an at large. Not going to be easy by no means, but we've seen the ability this team has. Last night, passes were off just a bit. Had to look/reach behind for a lot of them. We've seen the games when they've been spot on. It's there for them.

Fun fact: we control our destiny. If we run the table we win the MacNaughton Cup. Do I think we'll reel off 8 straight? I'm not betting on it. But what that also means is we control our destiny for a home playoff spot. Tech can win the MacNaughton, but they need help. Now look at Mankato. They control their own destiny for 4th. Beyond that they need help to finish first, second, or third. All things considered, I'd rather be us than them.

Pfoh posted an update on Instagram earlier today. If he plays again this season, I'll be surprised. Extremely dangerous place/way to trip a player. Oddly enough, Doran was tripped in a similar fashion Friday night, but missed the net and went head first into the boards.

NCAA has an epidemic starting on how teams defend the last 30 seconds of games. We saw it in the LSSU loss. I've heard about it happening in other games as well. When there's not enough time to enforce a penalty, just drop everybody you can.
