vs. St. Thomas (2/6-7)
vs. St. Thomas (2/6-7)
Just a massive series on deck here.
Following a pair of draws with Notre Dame, our Falcons (14-6-6) will now host the St. Thomas Tommies (17-8-3). They are sitting first in the CCHA right now and beat us in the CCHA semifinals last year, so you can bet we'll be up for this series. Friday night at 7:07, Saturday night at 6:07, both games on Midco.
We played this team in their building back in November and split the series - a 3-2 win and a 6-2 loss. Now we welcome Rico's gang back to Slater for potentially the last time, as they head to the NCHC next season.
They're an elite, elite offensive team. Both by CCHA standards and by national standards - they're 3rd in the country in goals per game. 3 of the top 4, and 4 of the top 7 goal scorers in the CCHA are on their roster. We are going to have a hell of a time trying to keep them out of our net. But still... they play these games for a reason, and the reason is the pursuit of a CCHA championship, which we are very much still alive for despite the difficult final stretch of the schedule.
Why not win em both and make things interesting, fellas? Go Falcons!

Moore in net. Simanovics and Zlnka listed as the extra skater decision. No other surprises in lineup.

Pfoh will be released from the hospital tomorrow. Norris has done some walking without his boot. Likely will be ready for the playoffs.

This is good news. Hoping for a speedy recovery for both.
Gonna be an interesting series for sure. Get 4 points or more and things are gonna get really interesting. Need to play our game, try to slow UST down a bit, and put a high volume of pucks on net.

Honestly was a clean hit, just unfortunate primary contact was the head.

Can’t be hitting people when they have their head down coming across center ice, especially when they are smaller and are leaning forward. Will be hitting their head every time.

Then take hitting out of the game.BGhockeyfan94 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 7:46 pm Can’t be hitting people when they have their head down coming across center ice, especially when they are smaller and are leaning forward. Will be hitting their head every time.

Re: vs. St. Thomas (2/6-7)
And there ya go, St. Thomas ties it at 1.
I don’t care how borderline a call is, when it’s the same guy doing it, it’s an issue. And it KILLS us. Pointless hit gives them a 5 minute power play that they immediately cash in because they’re an elite offense when we had carried the period and had all the momentum.
So Gus plays 15 minutes and likely misses the rest of the weekend with a suspension coming tomorrow night. Just have to be smarter than that, with Norris already out. Far too important a player for him to make himself unavailable as often as he does.

Feels like that’s what happening. When I played and that hit happened, we were told to just keep our head up….but at the same time you know how they are going to call the game these days and the type of hits that will get you thrown out. But I still think if you are coming across the ice with your head down, you deserve to get blown up.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 7:50 pmThen take hitting out of the game.BGhockeyfan94 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 06, 2026 7:46 pm Can’t be hitting people when they have their head down coming across center ice, especially when they are smaller and are leaning forward. If you have the puck, you shouldn't have your head down coming across center ice.

Morneau catches Musser cheating and beats him cleanly. 2-1.
Gus should have known better. That dude should have never come across the middle with his head down. Two things can be true at the same time.
