Don't even get me started on generative AI in entertainment and the arts
Yeah, even stupid s**t that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Saw Cedar Point had their winterfest over the weekend and they released some new shirt designs. Many of them are obvious AI slop.

Now do I need or want a CP shirt? No. But my son has typically grabbed one for his favorite ride in any given season. And over the years they've had some pretty cool designs. Now I have to explain to a 10 year old why the t-shirt he may want is actually a sign of the impending apocalypse? And you can bet your ass those shirts won't be a penny cheaper than the ones designed by real artists.

Thankfully most of the AI designs I've seen are so god awful they're unlikely to reach his wishlist, because even at 10 he has eyes and taste.

Yep I’m in agreement with this or something similar. Make a commitment to being really good at one sport in men’s and women’s. I don’t care if it’s chess, be good at something. Seems like we just exist in division 1 between bad to mediocre in everything with a sport and there’s a sport and there that is slightly above average. It’s boring.
Hock-ey! Hock-ey! Hock-ey!
I don't disagree that this is more likely than football or basketball. Look at WMU: their athletic department got $50 million in a donation 5 years ago...and last season won the national title in hockey. I'd bet some cold, hard cash that this donation played a huge role in that success.
