WVU Rollin' Along

Post by golfertk14 »

Unbelievable, the Mountineers beat Bobby Knight and Texas Tech last night! I saw them in Cleveland when they beat Crieghton and I knew they were a good team, but I didn't know they were THIS good. Anyone lucky enough to have them going to the Elite 8 in their brackets? (Mine were toast after the Demon Deacons lost.)

I am currently ranked in the 2,750,000 range out of 2.8 million brackets on ESPN.com. I'm holding up last place in our azz.com pool quite nicely. There is one guy in our work pool that is one point behind me. If I can somehow overtake him for last place I get my $5 back! :)

Its a shame, because I usually do pretty well in these things, but this year was quite awful. The teams I thought would do well didn't, and vice versa.

I had Lousiville and Wake playing down there...I'll leave it at that about my Elite 8.

I was toast in my work pool and AZZ pool when OK State lost. Well, officially "burned toast" when OK State lost in the work pool... Wake had already toasted me the week before.

Well, I filled out all my brackets the same, and anyone can readily view them from the azz.com pool, but suffice to say mine sucks.

The only sweet 16 I got right were the 4 #1 seeds. Illinois & UNC are my only 2 elite 8 & Final 4 teams still alive! :(

If DD was coaching WV.....

Post by Falconboy »

They wouldn't be in the NCAA's , somehow I think they would miss out. If they were to make it while being coached by Dakich, it would be on pure talent alone. Did you see how Texas Tech melted in the last 30 secs of the game vs WV? Coach Knight never looks happy , ever. That has to effect players mentally over a period of time. Just probably the reason Texas Tech has never advanced beyond 2nd round until this year. TT had better talent probably but sucumbed to pressure late in the game against a loose free-wheeling West Virgina who's coach doesn't care if a Mike Gansy hoists a 3pt shot 2-3 ft behind the line. Coach Knight would scream his head off at a player probably for doing that, therfore his players play probably a little too scared. Scared never wins.
