I wouldn't expect him to go anywhere. He's had two decent seasons and nothing that would move the needle on his national profile. Minnesota is probably going to go for broke with this hire given the NIL landscape.
It was more of a tongue-in-cheek comment that was taken much more literally than I'd hoped.

Raboin has turned down the Minnesota job.

Minnesota also fired their women's coach.

It’s comical that as much as thy have fallen from being a national threat and as just okay as they were this year, Mankato still sweeps the MacNaughton and the Mason Cup. Just absurd. We have to raise our level as a program instead of waiting for the others to fall off. No reason we can’t do it.

Anybody going to Lunch with Willy today? I got the link and I’m debating finding the time for it, but not certain. Would love if someone could throw a rundown in here afterwards as a recap. Probably the last time we’ll hear from Coach for a good bit.

Also, BGSU One Day is TOMORROW. Don’t forget!

I'll be on the call and can throw a rundown on here. I expect to hear mostly Willy-speak. Unlike Eigs, he doesn't go off script too often but maybe he'll talk about recruits or something.

I wish they'd use something other than Zoom. And make it available to those of us that are blue collar without the luxury of rearranging schedules to listen in. It's the day before One Day for a reason. One Day isn't fishing for big donors. It's purpose is to get the smaller donations from people who think it won't make much of a difference. It's easier to find 200 people to donate $100 than it is to identify one $20,000 donor. Those are the people this call should appeal to, and unfortunately I think there's going to be a lot that miss out on it (my lunch is 1100-1130, and we're busy right now).

Willy covered year-end stuff, GPA of the group, where they ended up in the CCHA metrics wise, seniors are hanging around with the current team still with skates and workouts. He thought they outplayed Tech in the playoffs but couldn't find the back of the net. Was happy with the effort from the group for most of the season. Currently no indication of anyone leaving but doesn't mean guys won't entertain jumping into the portal.

Sounds like roster construction will continue to be fostered with relationships with agents and coaches as opposed to NIL.

Willy couldn't discuss anything about the schedulee - said there's a home/home with a really good club and it seemed like the Princeton series will conclude in their barn this year. Made mentioned about playing a current top-10 club next year.

Someone asked about the refereeing - he thought it was decent this year and probably needs to get to know the individual tendencies of each official on a higher level to better grasp what to expect from game to game. Seemed like he was choosing his words carefully.

He also mentioned this year there are four One Day matches instead of one. Mr. Slater is in, so is Natyshak; I didn't get the other two. In addition to total dollars matched they are also providing funds based on number of donors.

He said that given where Gus was in his development college hockey probably wasn't the best place for him to be and that this AHL deal is a fantastic opportunity.

Expect a few more names to be announced on the recruiting front (everyone is or has been or will be out on the recruiting trail).

And Lucia is "doing a great job."

Kotai signs an ELC with the Islanders. The top two goaltenders in the CCHA from this past season are now off the board.

Of the 5 top guys in terms of GAA, only 2 are returning to school next year (at this point) - Cole Moore and Jacob Steinman.

To add on, Steinman (BG), Hildebrand (BSU), and OAA (NMU) are all returning after their freshmen year. Bartoskevitzcwiz (Tech), Moore (BG), and Applebee (LSSU) also return. That is some solid goaltending lining up in the CCHA for next year.
