Baseball opens 2026 season

Post by Falconfreak90 »

Baseball fell at #5 Ga Tech yesterday in the season opener, 11-5. Down 9-4 in the top of the 8th and we left the bases loaded. All in all a good showing against a Top 5 team who won 41 games last year. BG had 9 hits and GT 13. DH today to wrap up the series. Would be nice to get at least 1 win.

Georgia Tech is supposed to be very good this year. Let's hope guys are healthy and ready to the rest of the year.

Incredible that they hit for 464 against our pitching for the series.

They have multiple pretty high draft picks in the field at GT, so I'm not too surprised by their success, but it does seem after this weekend that we don't really have a shut down arm on the roster. Hope a few guys develop through the season before MAC play.

Also of note for those curious, Garrett Wright broke his hand last month and is out for at least another month at Tennessee. The bad thing about that is that UT already has two other very talented catchers, so it might be hard for him to find time in the field this season, at all.

We went 1-2 at Western Carolina and this past weekend, 1-2 at Samford. 2-8 on the season and now we open MAC play at....Kent State. Follow that with a mid week game at Dayton and then 3 at MiAudi. The schedule makers did us no favors this season.

Supposed to rain pretty heavily this weekend...they might try a DH Friday and then game 3 Sunday.

This has been a really tough season for baseball. Can’t believe Findlay blew them out

BG beat the Nutz in Cbus, 9-3, Tuesday night and Lourdes 13-4, last night at the Stell. Now on a 5 game winning streak and a BiG weekend home series against CMU. Falcons now 13-17, 7-8 MAC. Roll along, fellas...

Lose 5-4 on Friday to a dreadful UMass baseball program. Now 8-11 in the MAC, and making the MAC Tournament seems like a long shot at best.

For the second year in a row, it seems injuries have completely derailed the season. Not sure what that means -- if anything. The injuries aside, it's been a rough and disappointing year.

Lost 2 out of 3 at home to Toledo on alumni weekend. Now tied for 9th place in the MAC. It would take a miracle to make the MAC Tournament. Will Hallock receive another extension and raise in the offseason?

Another dreadful performance in a 6-1 loss to Eastern Michigan. Maybe the grass wasn’t the issue. This program was much better when it whined non stop about what it didn’t have.

Run-ruled by Toledo 15-5 last night. The worst collective year of BGSU sports marches on. Raise those student fees to pay for it…

Another loss and officially eliminated from MAC Tournament contention. Maybe it wasn’t the facilities and the coach is really mediocre. Will DVDM get him another raise once the new fees kick in?
