TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: Mon Apr 13, 2026 4:53 pm Update: LSSU's Evan Bushy (D, 6'1" 194lb) from the portal to the Slater Family Ice Arena. Looks like he comes in as a senior. McMahon currently has him rated as the 4th highest d-man in the portal (that'll obviously change).
LSSU does not have a Masters program. Not sure if he actually graduated before he moved on or not, but a solid depth pickup where a lot needs replaced.
College Puck NXT agrees.
I just looked. He's a Grad Transfer. Should also be a Designated Student Athlete

Willy landed another WHL'er, '07 forward Landen McFadden from Moose Jaw.

It's been a busy day.

Really like the Bushy pickup.

42 points in 3 years is solid for a D Man. Roughly 100 games of experience in this league already. And he led their team in blocked shots, an area where we seriously lacked this season. Pretty ideal depth pickup, to me.

32-36-68 in 67 games. That's a well balanced forward to come in 27. Currently loaded with forwards, so he's got at least another season yet. Need to work on those defensive numbers a little though.

I think he has the talent to play college, just didn't fit the system here. From the U18 game, and the weekly social media videos it seems like he was a great locker room guy.

I was hoping for one last hurrah to get him some hardware.

He could easily open up his own equipment shop and sharpen skates and make a killing. Absolute legend.

Willy picks up center Olivier Houde out of the portal. Houde had 13g-15a-28pts in 30 games as a freshman for Lindenwood. Played his juniors in the QMJHL.

By my count that gives us 6 centers: Doran, Morneau, Sloan, Levis, Patton, and now Houde.

It is easier to move a center to wing. Have to be close to full on the front end. I still expect at least one more D to be added. Maybe 2.

By my count we're at 18 forwards if you count Luke Pfoh and only 8 defensemen. BU's Sascha Boumedienne is still in the portal but we're unlikely to land him and aside from Lindenwood's Nolan Seed who has some good numbers but he's on the smaller side at 5''11"/168, there isn't much in the way of quality defensemen left in the portal.
