Was he actually committed, or did his agent bluff and it got leaked as a done deal? Everyone wants to be first with the news.

Unfortunately, until we have a real NIL setup and actual revenue to share with the players, this will keep happening to us.

The way this programs gets unstuck from 3rd-6th purgatory is by getting its money up so we can upgrade the roster. Until then, more quarterfinal and semifinal exits are likely on the docket.

It's unknown if they outbid us or what, maybe this was the only seat available to him on the Nacho bus.

Doesn't mean they couldn't come up with NIL money. There's a reason players are running from that program right now. If a player chose that program over BG right now, not sure he's be a good fit here. I look for another transfer from him next season.

A 22 year old that's only ever seen Canadian girls takes one look at the campus brochure...... that could sway some things.... there's been more than one player that's had a playing career derailed like that.

McMahon posted some portal analysis on net +/- for each team based on CHN's CHIP rating. We're on the positive side (barely) and the CCHA as a whole wasn't gutted as badly as the ECAC. Be sure to scroll to the top (if necessary).

I'm on board with these takes. I don't get the sense we were outbid as much as Willy wasn't going to be held hostage by a kid from Lindenwood. "You wanna go down there, you be my guest and good luck to ya."

*Simanovics* is also in the portal. Would be a Jr. Depending on why he it's in the portal, I wouldn't be at all shocked if he withdraws and returns as a depth guy. Little short on D, and there isn't really a lot in the portal that would be an upgrade.

Edit: Portal closes for new additions next Monday or Tuesday (thought it was 15 days). Those in the portal after that time can still find homes, but no new additions allowed.
