Now you've got me picturing this... the mental image in my head is of about five or six of our teeny little hundred-pounds-or-less fliccs dangling off one of the football players, trying desperately to slow him down while getting dragged across the field...

"Flicc" is just a contraction of "flute" and "picc." More flute than picc nowadays, thank you all that is good and holy. A 4:1 ratio is quite enough for one sectional room.

WOW, still I think more than Miami. I think we had 4? Flute section had 25? or 26, Clarinets has 22. We were hated. Oh, and does anyone know if BG is playing OU in your house? I'd LOVE to see the 112 go and get EATEN up somewhere. They aren't ALLOWED anywhere NEAR Oxford and Miami. They spoiled it for the MUMB too. We can't go to Athens. I think we should though, just to play Love and Honor. I don't mind BG, I truly Hate OU, and LOATH UC. What you feel for UT, multiply it by about a million, and then you are still a little ways off from the way Miamians are about OU and UC.

Flicc, I figured it was something on that order. hehe.... dragging a football player. this IS amusing!! Anything else I should know?

--------------------------------------------
Love and honor to Miami,
Our college old and grand.
Proudly we shall ever hail thee,
Over all the land.
Alma mater now we praise thee,
Sing joyfully this lay.
Love and honor to Miami,
Forever and a day.

Yea, we ARE that cool! WE say LAY in our fight song!

I GO TO MIAMI! OU IS THE ENEMY! Oh, and the 110 ACTUALLY marches nearly 180..... and pregame is 112. They can't count.(I have MANY friends in the 110) Have any of you seen MUMB?

At the MACC in Detroit we got a kick out of UT's band. SOOOO band. And the Commentators had the NERVE to comment on Miami's band, and how "bad they look." I love being in band, everytime The Band was at a televised game, I was on TV at least once, usually more than once. Too bad Miami and BG can't play in the MACC anymore.....we should call our games the Pre-MACC hehe. Because We KNOW whoever wins is going to the MAC Championship....

BOOOOOOOOOO OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! They had ONE girl yelling "BOOOOOO! 110!" in Yager last year, I laughed at her, I thought some of my band friends, and the students in the stands were going to injure her.

My wife is the classically trained musician in the family, but I have to say that I love marching band music at athletic events. There's nothing else like it. I've really enjoyed that Noah has been able to see the band play at four of the five games he's attended (Temple being the only exception); better yet, he really loves it, too. We often listen to "Pride" when we're driving in the Suburban or even while we're playing Hot Wheels in the family room.

Go get 'em, Tigers!

You guys came to the Doyt for the 2003 MACC. (*shudders at the memory of that game*) But you didn't have all your members, so you didn't march, just performed a "park and blow." I believe our student section mooned you. Sorry 'bout that.

Oh, we know. We know. I didn't even feel like I could legitimately mock them (which made me mad, cuz I was looking forward to heckling them) because they were so... pitiful. I would have felt bad for them, if it hadn't been UT.

I'm a flute player. If you know your band politics, you'll know that's the end of the discussion.
