Actually, I was in high school (barely) in 1979, but didn't remember the quote from the movie.
The Sesame Street, Barney, and Old Yeller comment came from watching them WITH my kids, not as a kid

Ohhh, it is all clear now. I was kind of scratching my head trying to figure out why you were watching Barney in the 90s. I would probably have the same problem with more recent movies, luckily (well) I spent a lot of time watching great comedies from the 70s and 80s before my kids arrived. I know what you mean though, blues clues and dora take up more of my life then they should. Although Pixar has certainly combated adult boredom in child entertainment.
