Ok, the punch does look suspicious. But the take down of White was nothing. IMO.

Didn't view the videos. Nor will I. I'm sure if you take the time you'll find just as many the other way.'
The fact is that this happens in every pile up in every football game from 7th grade on through the NFL. Anything goes on the football field. That OSU guy took it to another level trying to choke someone, but I'm sure even that is not uncommon. He just did it with the wrong camera angle at the wrong time. I don't feel sorry for him, and it SHOULDN'T be part of the game, but it is.

ouch... even though I know crap like that goes on at the bottom of piles all the time, that punch (was that you in there, Freak?) made me cringe a little. Not just because it was a shot to the goods, but because we shouldn't have to play like that, especially that late in a game. The takedown was sketchy, who knows what was going through his head, but not nearly as blatant as the other.
But while they're all gung-ho about posting video clips, maybe they can find the clip of the OU LB dragging Omar down by his head after a pass. It goes both ways.
(EDIT: As soon as I clicked "submit", I realized I probably shouldn't have posted anything. What other fans say on their own board should be their business. Almost all of the OU fans that have come here have been total class, and we shouldn't concern ourselves with what anyone's saying on their own teams board. If they came here and posted that, its one thing, but they didn't and the issue should be left alone, IMO.)

In order to be fair, they also have this pic posted.

Uh, excuse me, Mr. Referee? I think Mr. Parks is being held!

I remember seeing that take down of Jason White Saturday.
Was it legal? Probably not. But it was hardly vicious.
As for the supposed shot to the nutz... I assume that kind of stuff was going both ways yesterday.
It didn't seem like he even landed much of a shot.
Anyone have video of them mauling us. I didn't see the controversial pass interference call. I'd love to see that

This game was very well handled by the officials. Very even handed in my opinion. Schaud, the phantom pass int. on Mayberry was either a no call (likely) or (possibly) offensive pass interfence in my opinion. Mayberry looked back etc. etc. Happened just yards away from me. Big call, but, hey, we were playing the number two team in the country in front of the largest crowd to see a sports event in Oklahoma history.
So I forgive them. Be glad there weren't three or four of these calls.
Go Falcons!

No maybe about that call...
that was a definite offensive interference and the replays clearly showed it that way. The receiver litterally grabbed his shoulder and pulled him away from the ball. Even the announcers were all in a huff about the bad call. Mayberry clearly looked to be in line for an interception and the receiver did the smart thing by grabbing him. Unfortunately, the call was not a good one.

Re: No maybe about that call...
I was 51 rows up and on the other side of the stadium but I thought that was a poor call also. I thought the touchdown where you guy landed out of bounds was a bad call.....until I saw the replay and it was a very nice play by the receiver. Be thankful that you didn't get the kind of officiating that Oregon State got in Baton Rouge the other night.BelieveNBG wrote:that was a definite offensive interference and the replays clearly showed it that way. I agree...
I was a little skeptical of the touch down catch myself and the replay showed it was a great catch. All in all, the officiating wasn't bad. Missed calls are part of the game, you just hope they don't determine the outcome of a game.
How do you even notice any football players in that picture with all those short skirts in the background. Geez it took me like 3 minutes of looking to even NOTICE there was a football game going on in that picWarthog wrote:In order to be fair, they also have this pic posted.

I actually saw the shot Crossley took live when I was watching on TV and I was like "what is he doing?" Obviously, it went unnoticed by the officials and the OU offensive lineman. I'm not sure what he was doing or thinking, but he's too good of a player to be dishing out cheap shots if that was the case - which is what it looked like. I'm sure they happen all the time, I just don't like seeing them performed by a Falcon.
GO BG!!!

Then not watching football is probably your only solution. I know for a fact having talked to several former opponents that DJ Durkin and Joe O'Neill were two of the dirtiest players you'll ever find. In fact, I have met the acquaintance of both of them and they'll readily admit to things just as bad or worse as nailing somebody in the junk.BGSU33 wrote: I'm sure they happen all the time, I just don't like seeing them performed by a Falcon.

It's called football...
Never question a shot like that without knowing what lead to the shot. This was in the 4th quarter, alot of football had been played, and there is no telling what had gone on before this happened. Remember, it's usually only the retalliation that get's caught on tape.
