Um, guys don't "lay out." They act like they're throwing a football and in between throws admire the scenery.MiamiBando wrote:It's a goood nuts. I am SO gonna lay out tommorrow. 75 or higher and Sunny ALL day. I LOVE IT!Thanks Goof!

When I was in school, MacDonald was female only. That was a heck of a courtyard.
When I first came to BG with my parents, we drove past two lovely bikini-clad BGSU ladies tossing a football around their yard (lived in an apartment across the street from campus.) I suddenly felt very good about being in college, and my dad almost got into a wreck.

Mmmmmm. MAC Beach. I was in Prout Frsoh and Soph year. Room 130 which looked right between the old ADPi house and .....uh, that other house right onto the beach.
The telescope worked rather well out that window.

The French House I believe, Mac was a fun dorm to live in last year.

BG Drew, at Miami EVERYONE lays out. We toss footballs around, play volleyball(there are like 10 courts on campus, 3 within 5 minutes of my building), or go out to the CPA and Fort Liles(marching band practice field) and play soccer or bball. We DO Lay out.
easier for us to get cloase to the girls(I'd say hot, but there are SOOOO many hot ones, it'd be easier to say the not hot ones.)
Anyways, how can ANYONE say Miami isn't beautiful? If you wanna marry a girl, kiss her at midnight under the Upham arch. IT ALWAYS works.

At one time 1 out of every 9 band directors received their training from BGSU.MiamiBando wrote:Thanks Falcon 30! Thanks SOOOOO much. BG produces good people. I think the Band director from Washington CH was from BG.(a High School rival of my school)

You should be impressed,
although hardly surprised. BG's one of the few schools that has a college dedicated entirely to Musical Arts-- it's not just a part of a college of generic "Fine Arts." So what with a good music program, and a good education program (BG Normal College, what?), it's hardly surprising that a very good portion of undergrads are in Music Ed.
Speaking of the old Normal College, one of the choirs (collegiate chorale? can't remember which) is singing the current and old alma maters for some kind of video that's being made. One of my good friends showed me the music for the old one-- the 1915, or something, one-- and it is hilarious. I'll have to see if I can post the lyrics.
Edit: Ha! Found it, on a transcript of the speeches from the first graduation banquet at BG. Guess this was a banquet for just coeds.
Alma Mater
We hail you dear Normal College;
Ohio's great seat of knowledge;
O cheer then dear brothers,
Sing then dear Sisters,
Buckeyes from this grand state
Rah! Rah!
We raise high the flag of victory
Your fame is the whole world o'er
Rah! Rah!
So shouting defiance
We have reliance
Winning a great big score
Rah! Rah!
Dear Alma Mater, staunch and true-
We pledge our heart and hand for you
Our loyalty to you we're deeding
And here's to you always leading,
Dear Alma Mater, staunch and true
We pledge our heart and hand for you
No other School so grand
Has e'er been seen
As Normal College Bowling Green!
I think the one my friend had was a bit different. I seem to remember some line about "the line is breaking" and "the enemy shaking" or something. Second verse, maybe.
While I'm on a roll, here's what I guess was the fight song, called "Normal College Spirit:"
For her we'll sing.
For her we'll shout
For her we'll stand together
For her we'll raise
A song of praise
B.G.N.C. Forever.

probably similar to the 15 or so(exagerration) verses or Old Miami, New Miami....
You wanna sing the real version, we times it, it would take you 15 minutes, at least.
Old Miami, New Miami
original version(still used)
Old Miami from thy hillcrest,
Thou hast watched the decades roll,
While thy sons have quested from thee,
Sturdy hearted, pure of soul.
chorus
Aging in thy simple splendor,
Thou the calm and they the storm;
Thou didst give them joy in conquest,
Strength from thee sustained their arm.
Chorus
Now of late thyself envigored,
Larger usefulness awaits;
Hosts assemble for thy blessing,
Youth and maiden throng thy gate.
Chorus
Thou shalt stand a constant beacon,
Crimson tow'rs against the sky;
Men shall ever seek thy guiding,
Pow'r like thine shall never die.
Chorus (between each verse and at end)
Old Miami! New Miami!
Days of old and days to be;
Weave the story of thy glory,
Our Miami, here's to thee!
