Ron Lewis- Compare this year and last year. That should be enough said right there! How stupid can he really be thinking he has a better shot at the NBA at O. State. There he will be another guy fighting for min. Oh by the way, have you ever heard of KEITH MCLEOD? Pretty good MAC player starting all season for an NBA team. Please, some common sense.
Yup. Lewis' transfer is not a bad reflection on DD. Lewis is a moron. Thanks, Lenny.
Um, by the way, OSU just received a verbal from Dayton Dunbar's Dequan Cook, who some rank as the #1 wing guard in the class of 2006. So, Lewis can look forward to playing behind JJ Sullinger next year and then getting beaten out by a freshman during his senior year..

All these employee/employer things are true and accurate. No doubt.
But, at the end of the day, the manager isn't evaluated by how many people he runs off, or the integrity he shows in doing it. He's evaluated by getting people to perform...the right people in the right positions with the right motivation. These are the elements that worry me of late with our program. We are 45-44 since Len and the others graduated.
I think a great deal of Coach. He is a tremendous man and a contributor in everything he does here, and that's just as important as winning. Still, I think I speak for BG Fans when I say our desire is to see our team succeed the right way. If I have to give one up, I'll give up the winning, but I think we've shown you don't have to give one up.
I think Coach reflects those values, too. He hasn't forgotten how to coach, I just think he hasn't brought in the right mix of players who can thrive in his system. The program really needs for this year's recruiting class to be the kind of players who will make it to their senior day.

Welcome to the real world.
When you get a job, if you don't follow the company line - you'll soon find yourself unemployed
Given that I have now been employed by the same company for the last fifteen years, I guess I have fallen for the company line.
Getting back to the original question, I do like Dakich as a person. He fights for what he believes and I respect him for that. That, however, does not necessarily make you a great coach. So is he likeable? Sure, everybody is likeable at some level. I just wish he would recruit more players that find him likeable.

Coach K of Duke is probably a very tough coach every much as Dakich. But you may not get that sense cuz he does all of his toughest coaching in practice away from media and fans. When it comes game time ,his players usually perform at a high level almost all the time. You dont' see Duke going the players like a revolving door. Coach K has it to a science , you coach your players very hard in practice and let them play during game time , instead of yanking em' for every little error. Frankly all these players leaving might not even be 'cuz of DD's tough mentality, it may be of they can't stand running our too often times enemic offense. Monty might be thinking there's no way its going to get any better here at BG so I'll leave now while I have chance. Who knows. But if Monty is leaving just because Dakich is too tough and wants players in class and behaving themselves, well than I say good riddence.
DD has got to get it together and start making better choices as to who he dishes out a schollie to. If he's not doing enough homework on these guys to find out if they have what it takes , then we got major problems. As a head coach you got access to their hs coach , so you should be able to acertain whether or not that player will have what it takes to stay in your system. And also don't coaches talk to players parents as well? I know that recruiting is not an exact science ,but you should be able to make more than a few good choices ones than bad ones, and as of late DD has been horrid at acertaining whether certain guys have the kind of mentality he supposedly wants.
