Important Dates in April

Post by Salsa »

There are a number of dates upcoming in April that might bring important news for BG and the MAC.

April 13--The beginning of the Spring signing period in basketball, lasting about a month.

April 16--The Spring Game in football. Incidentally, I'll repeat a former post--I've heard that the scrimmage preceding the Spring Game is always more important for showing what's really going on.

April 30--The official launching of the "Building Dreams" fundraising campaign for BG. This should tell us a lot about the future plans for BG as a whole, including athletics.

Sometime in April--The report of the NCAA Bowl Game Committee which certifies Bowl Games for the upcoming season. This report can decertify present Bowl Games or certify new ones.

Anybody got any early news about these events?

April 9 - Opening Day for our baseball league

Say, maybe we'll have the "Bowling Green party" that Noah suggested on the Saturday of the spring game...

On April 27, 1937 the first Social Security check was issued. Thankfully, it didn't bounce...

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Only if the stupid NHL settles something, otherwise, no draft.
