red, we will not play a Friday night game. And there is not enough gain there with students still leaving generally. Break continues into early week so there was only one option: BG had to play on the road in the MAC 10/8. The MAC didn't get it done for us.

So all other fans must get in for this game and make some serious noise. EVERYBODY GET YOUR TICKETS.

Go Falcons!

The Freaks are gonna go to Muncie....all there is to it. If I can make it to 8 out of 11 games with this schedule, I'm happy.
Look at 2004...we had 4 road games outta the first 5!! :x
Freak, fantastic news!! Seeing as how Muncie is right down the road, let me know the "detes" regarding your venture and maybe me and the boys can hook up with you.

I would like to officially invite any and all cute girls who do not have a bed to stay in that weekend to my house. We WILL find room for you.

In the interest of BG Athletics, only, of course.

COOL!!! The Freaks are heading to Muncie. I told Mrs. Freak we will celebrate our anniversary all week and do something special on the 17th...(NO BG GAME!    ). She busted my chops a bit in fun but knows the importance of Falcon Football.

We can head over early Saturday and stay over after the game.

BTW, last time I was in Muncie, tickets for the game were $7 each. Can't beat that!

Right on, bro! I think we're gonna head over early on the 10th and get a hotel room in Muncie for Sat night. If the Freaklings go to sleep early enough, we can empty more cans of beer! Mmmm...beer.

Falconfan1,
What is this fall break? Classes start, what, late August and the students get a break 6-8 weeks later??? Where was this break when I was there in the late 80's???
I am gonna push the OU game on everyone I know....The MAC did nothing to help BGSU. After we switched divisions to help UCF, too....

Hammb,
That post about any girls needing a bed is the best post of the month! :supz:

Don't get too jealous. It's only two days added on to the weekend, just enough time for the homesick freshmen to get their mommy-and-daddy fix.

Wednesday afternoon game?

Post by doughash »

At least BG didn't get stuck with a Wednesday afternoon game like Kent St. and Akron. Its a 1:00 kickoff the day before Thanksgiving and will be broadcast on ESPN2. I realize its the start of a holiday weekend but most people I know still work the day before Thanksgiving. Not sure if the 2 schools have classes scheduled that day or not.

falconfan1 wrote:wart, you were right on as expected. We have the big Boise national spotlight game- and it was always going to be a midweek game- so that takes out two September Saturdays. We have the big opener at Wisconsin (which will likely be picked up by TV) and that left us 9/10.

And you so correctly pointed out that there was no MAC team that could be a home game available on that date.

More troubling to me is the home game on fall break weekend. As you can read in the press release, AD Krebs fought this situation very, very hard. You can read how disappointed he is with the MAC in this situation. AD Krebs realizes this is totally unfair to our students. Look for him and the department to attempt to do something to attract/thank those students able to stay and/or come back for the game. Keep in mind that the res halls actually close over fall break. We have 7000 plus students without a local bed to stay in. Upperclassmen are more likely to remain in and around town and some of the more local on campus students (like Toledo etc) will come back for the game 10/8.

I am sure our band, cheerleaders will be right there and, if we have a good record, we should be attracting plenty of interest. But this is a very difficult situation for BG. Personally, I believe the MAC office should have done literally whatever it took to get us home in the MAC 10/15 and away in the MAC 10/8. To be honest, I think a marquee program like ours deserves a little more. I am sure our athletic department feelsthe same way, but the MAC office just couldn't get it done for whatever reasons. Ours is a residential campus and our students should come first in any event.

So, I am hereby sending out the Falcon Signal to all alums and friends of the Falcons: buy your tickets and get into the Doyt. If you are coming for only a couple games due to distance, please make 10/8 Ohio University a priority.

Let's go Falcons! See you in Madison.
During Fall Break, Dorms are open as far as I know of. They close for Thanksgiving, Winter Break, and Spring Break. As I recall, I stayed on campus this past year during the Fall Break. If my information is wrong, someone correct me. Oh, and hammb, if what I say is true, Sorry to ruin your plans!!
