Falcons to host volleyball tourney April 23!

Post by 1987alum »

If you've never been to a college volleyball game, you're missing out! Tourney starts at 9:30 a.m., April 23.

Read the details!

And support the local girl - BG's own Elizabeth Simon

This might be suprising to some but I've actually never been to a BG Volleyball match. If I don't have any conflicts, I will definitely be there. I can't go 4 years of school without going to a match!!!!!!

McMetz: You won't regret it. Even after I stopped covering the Falcons for The BG News, I would check out the matches. Great stuff!

The real question I want to know is did you keep going back to watch volleyball or the girls in the tight shorts? :D

I'm sorry, did you ask a question? I was distracted ...

Back "in the day," the crowds were relatively sparse. Word has it that part of the mission of the new assistant AD is to increase attendance to v-ball games, as well as the program's profile. Head Coach Denise Van De Walle is a legend.

I'd love to see Volleyball become the 'Next Great NCAA game.' It's closely followed during the Summer Olympics, but after that it falls off the map until four years later. This could be big for not only BG but the entire MAC if they could find more people to watch.

(Wonders how long it takes for the ideas for an attendance increase turns into stripper poles and mini-pools of jello)
