Can he handle both football and basketball? Cause I thought he was replacing Brandon after we go undefeated and win the Motor City Bowl and Brandon leaves for the big money at South Florida?

If you play nice you might be in line for a coordinator's spot!

Not with me as coach. We'll be running the ball to set up the pass.

TE will be a major component of the offense. WRs will be asked to go downfield more often. Lots of playaction. This is all set up, of course, by our ability to pound opponents into submission, which we will with our huge OL & Pope.

The defense will be aggression, aggression, aggression. 1-Gap along the front, shoot your gap and attack. Lots of blitzing from the LBs, CBs, and S. Zone Blitzing as well to take advantage of our smaller, quicker DL.

Shouldn't this forum be used to discuss Options basketball plans instead of hambb's football plans?

Well Dakich is Catholic, knows the area well, and is a stand up guy with kids graduating and running a tight ship.

He seems to be the kind of guy they would be looking for.

The air has gotten stale around Anderson Arena, perhaps some fresh, jet fuel smell suits him better at this point.

Come on...here's the key point.

The last three recruiting classes for Dan Dakich have netted next to nothing for this program.

02-03
Stephen Wright--Productive player, still in program.
Ron Lewis--Two productive seasons, no junior year.
Raheem Moss--26 games, two starts, 66 career points, left program.

03-04
Chris Hobson, 28 games, 51 points, left program.
Austin Montgomery 56 games, 189 points, transferring.
Reggie Harwell--Nada.
Matt Lefeld--45 games, 52 points. Still in program.
Isaac Rosefelt--24 minutes, two points. Left Program.

04-05
Scott Vandermeer, 60 points and 40 fouls. Transferring.
Moon Robinson, ?, some potential.
Mawel Soler, decent bench player.

Stephen Wright, Lefeld, Robinson and Soler. I'm sorry, that's a track record that is troubling. And we can talk about how we're better off without certain guys, but we need guys to win---you cannot add by subtraction very often.

This JUCO guy looks like a good recruit. I'll believe it when I see it. I'm really disappointed in Vandermeer leaving.

I vented all this same stuff last summer, and they far exceeded my expectations. So maybe that will happen again. If it does, it will be a surprise.

You are correct, but the fact remains that Dakich asked them to come to BG to be a part of his basketball team. So are you saying that he can't recruit?

Thats exactly what I am saying. He should ask the player if they really want to play in his system. Instead players come here for a year or two, dont like the offense and leaves. This is what 5 players in 3 years. Plus, as I mentioned in an earlier post that someone deleted my post, why I do not know, but it pissed me off, a current player is struggling with his grades. Dakich should have tutors for every player as well. We need something to give our program a swift kick in the rear to move it forward.

Brad Fanning said that Montgomery was leaving because he did not like the ball control type of offense Dakich's runs. My question to that is didn't he ever watch a BGSU game before committing here?

They also said that the Vanderbeke decision to leave was a mutual one.

Do you HONESTLY BELIEVE that kids don't know what they're getting into when they come to BG? Do you think Dan lies to them?? Do you think he told Austin, "Yeah, son... we run and gun at BG!! You'll be lighting up the MAC for 8 - 10 3's a night in my system!!"

Come on, some of these kids have egos and blinders. They're like the person in a relationship that is SURE they can change their partner's ways...

If you think for a minute that the kids we recruit aren't told what playing at BGSU is like, don't have ample opportunity to SEE FOR THEMSELVES what it's like to play at BGSU, then you don't know what college recruiting is about.

I deleted your other post because it was speculative. "I heard from someone who is in a class with someone." So sorry that pisses you off, but I'm not here to worry too much about that. I'm trying to verify your information and will post something if/when I find out. But hinting that someone is flunking out doesn't do anyone any good.

Perhaps you should volunteer to tutor?
