awards

Hey, big hurrahs to: Hodgie voted by his teammates as best defenseman, Taylor Christie for most improved player, Siggy the goalie for MVP, and to Matsie-moto for leading scorer. I think there were other awards but that's all I can remember. :D

Congrats to all the winners!! I wrote them all down on the program, then left it somewhere!! Last year, it was the D'Arcy McConvey Show, this year, it was the Jordan Sigalet Show!! I do remember that Jordan also got the Terry Flanagan Award for Courage. They haven't handed that one out in quite awhile (Jeff Elvin was the last one to win it). Jordan, Minnebarriet and Rogosheske got the Leadership Award. I think Jordan got another one too, but can't remember which one it was...maybe the Coach's Award??? (Would be nice if the BGSU website had the winners listed....so far...nothing posted there....). Terry Burton won the Doc Wojo Award for Distinguished Service to the program. Well deserved, too!!!

Neatest part of the banquet was when Jordan spoke and gave his brother a HUGE, LONG picture that he had made up of the two of them. Very emotional and very touching. Petty special bond those two have. I imagine it will be very hard for Jonathan when Jordan moves on!

Senior gifts were pretty neat! They each got a framed action shot of themselves with their names and years written on the frame. They also got their orange road jerseys!!! That's a much more personal gift than giving them a watch they would probably throw into a drawer somewhere! I am sure it was more appreciated too!! In fact, one of the underclassmen told me he hopes he gets his jersery at his senior banquet!!!

Just totally amazing how fast these four years have flown by!!! Big crowd at the banquet too, biggest in a long time!!! Guess that says a lot as to what people think of how this team did this year and where it is headed for the future!!!

FALCON HOCKEY ROCKS!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
