"I was glad to leave Bowling Green," Turano said. "I like this place a lot better than Bowling Green. There's a lot more football tradition here (OSU) than there."
I'm sure playing under Blackney at the end of Blackney's regime could rub anyone the wrong way on a program. But this is no excuse for a comment that clearly demonstrates the lack of understanding about a BGSU football program that is steeped in tradition.

This kid was really immature. What FRESHMEN argues with the head coach who just gave him a FULL RIDE SCHOLARSHIP and gets kicked off a football team at mid-season?

He fits in well at Ohio State...$100 says that he's Robert Reynolds roommate.

Anyways, he sucked and we didn't need him anyways.

Whether or not OSU is better than BG is a matter of opinion, this kid has played at both places, but obviously his opinion is jaded.

On the other hand, OSU DOES have more tradition than BG. That's undeniable fact, although I'm not sure how that makes his current situation any different.

I agree....Nate Fry is solid. Because he's left footed, that reverse spin is tough for punt returners to catch. I think he'll be a weapon this year. In some ways he's still learning the ropes of punting since he started out as a placekicker...but he's come along really well. I won't forget that bomb he kicked in the Liberty game last year. It looked like it was shot out of a cannon.

How do you define tradition? For example if my family eats pizza every Friday and my neighbors eat doughnuts every Sunday morning...does that make my tradition "more" than theirs?

What have they honestly done overall that give's them more tradition over BG. Both programs have been around for ages...so time does not seem to be an issue.

More people know about Ohio State's tradition than BG's...that's the only forseeable difference in my eyes.

I agree Expos. Success does not equal tradition. If he says TOSU has been more successful, I will let him have that point. But to say one school has more tradition than the other is an unargueable point. Tradition is intangible and can't be measured. IMO. 8)

the only way i can see tradition being measured is by time, i can only assume osu has been around longer as a football team, so if they need to beat their chests b/c of that let them. we know who the better players, and people are.

Turano was a stiff as a kicker anyway. Who cares what he says?

Come on guys...You have to look at this rationally.

I am not a huge OSU fan...I wish them well, but only b/c I hate Michigan teams...Consider the following:

Their football program started before BG was even an all girls Normal Teaching College...Advantage OSU.

OSU vs. UoM or BGSU vs. UT...Advantage OSU

Dotting the I of script Ohio...Advantage OSU

Buckeye Battle Cry...a song solely devoted to their football team...Advantage OSU

It's all in personal preference and I could care less about the Big10. More of an SEC fan myself...

OSU vs UoM or BGSU vs. UT...Advantage BGSU (too much tea sipping in that Michigan bunch of fans. All fans that go to a BGSU vs. UT games are there for the game.)

Dotting I of OSU...Give me Jackson State, Tenn. State, Grambling, Southern

Buckeye Battle Cry ...Ay Ziggy after a big win with the students rushing the field is my preference
