This is honestly a weekly thing. I know that after every football game the guys would get trashed at Ziggy's. The guys drink it's how they celebrate/have a good time. As long as they aren't harming anybody or getting behind the wheel it's not a big problem. Coach Brandon could do what Coach Dakich does and tell his players that they aren't allowed to step foot in the bars.
My thoughts after reading everyones post.
I agree that Teddy is of legal age and should be allowed to tip a few back now and then. That's his legal right.
Teddy is a captain of this team and needs to remember that and set a good example for the underclassmen. There's having a good time and there's taking it too far.
What is starting to bother me a little is.... Where were his friends/teammates? I doubt that he was drinking like this alone. I know when I ran track at Kent State that if we went out and had a few and one of us got messed up. We would be sure to take care of them and get them home. The minute there looks to be a problem is when you pick your friend up and carry him home.
Minor misdemeanor should not have him suspended or his 'C' removed. He should get some extra work this summer and have a heart to heart with the team. Brandon will remind him of his responsibility as a Captain.
I just think that these guys work so hard that they have to blow off some steam everyonce in awhile. Just be sure you don't take it too far and that you look out for each other, that's what team is all about.
That's my 2 cents...

Well, if he was really that drunk, I'm sure he feels like crap, period.Falconfreak90 wrote: I'm sure he feels like crap about this
As for my opinion, he's old enough to drink, so he drank. Too much so, it appears. I would guess that he probably hadn't drank in a while, given that they just completed spring drills. His body couldn't handle what it could at one time, and he was too drunk before he realized that. No need to get all crazy here and suspend him. He made a mistake and will pay for that through the legal system and the embarassment of the whole situation. Let's just move on and play some football already!

Someone on here asked why he was still being served if he was truly that drunk, and I would ask the same question. Given that it was at downtown/uptown the staff was probably more concerned that no one wearing "urban appearal" was getting into the place than watching how much the people inside already were drinking. That has become quite a hot button topic in BG these days.

Sheese!!!!!!!
Hasnt' any of these players learned from ole Matt Leineger?? :coo-coo: Gosh ,is it so neccesarry to down alcohol to cope with whatever? Is Matt even still on the team? Somebody made a statement to the fact that Matt is out for this year, but could still play next year. Is that true? Yes, Ted is SENIOR who should be trying to help his team win a Mac title. Come on players, get it together please!!!!Teddy is a captain of this team and needs to remember that and set a good example for the underclassmen. There's having a good time and there's taking it too far.

I also remember when I was 21.
Perhaps that's the difference here.
As someone who is closer to age 70 than I am to 21, I also remember being 21, (although I'm not sure I've really grown up yet). I'll say it was bad judgement on his part, and not our place to judge him.
And yes, I'd say the same thing if it was someone from tOSU or Miami.

Wait, isn't a minor misdemeanor the same thing as like your third speeding ticket?

But it's clear that binge drinking is becoming more and more of a problem on college campuses across the country.
