Your Draft Pick?

Post by golfertk14 »

Unless you've been under a rock the last two months or you don't have ESPN, the NFL Draft is tomorrow. After quite a few weeks of debating I think it's time to put down our final choices:

1. Who do the Browns pick with their 1st Round pick?

2. Who goes #1 in the draft?

3. Magner: Which round?

4. Who's the first Falcon to go in the draft?

Scott Mruczkowski will go some time in the second day.

I think he's our only draft pick.

I think Scott goes first in the 5th round or so and maybe Magner gets a taken later.

1. i have an unsettling feeling that they are going to go QB in the draft and aaron rogers will be the browns pick. given the track record of jeff tedford QB's, we'll be buried again in a bust of a first round QB if we go this route. i think they'll end up going with braylon edwards though, even though i'd rather have mike williams or ronnie brown if i'm stuck with the #3.

i'd be calling minnesota seeing how badly they want williams, although i'm sure miami is on their call waiting, and the draft value chart works out perfectly as miami's #2 pick equals minnesota's #7 and #18.

2. alex smith will go first in the draft and SF will kick themselves. a better QB in charlie frye could be had in the second round. frye to williams would dominate for years in SF.

3. Magner is an undrafted FA. face it, he's not getting drafted. he's probably about the 30th best WR in this draft, and i may be stretching that.

4. Mruczkowski will be the only falcon to get drafted. he'll go 6th round or so.

Ok, I will go out on a limb on the first two, knowing I will probably be way off, but who cares:

1. Shawn Merriman. Not sure if it will actually be at three or not, but wherever they pick, I say it is Merriman.

2. Braylon Edwards. The 49ers finally come to the realization that they are gonna suck in 2005 and probably have the #1 pick again next year. Who will be the #1 pick in next years draft? Oh some QB from USC that just won two Heisman's and three national championships. So they take the best player available now, and wait to take a QB in 2006. (BTW, this is all based on Omar coming back to BG in the fall of 2006, otherwise we all know he would be the back QB in the draft next year. )

3. Not drafted, signs as a free agent (with Baltimore, )

4. Scotty M is the only Falcon drafted and he goes in round six.

1. If the Browns stand pat I'm thinking they go Braylon, Brown, or Smith. Whichever is still available. Of course I could change that opinion 50 times before then. Ideally they would trade down and take a guy like Merriman.

2. I'm thinking its going to be Alex Smith, but Rodgers wouldn't shock me.

3. Cole will likely be an UDFA.

4. Scott M. is the only Falcon drafted. Somehwere from 5th-7th round.

Is this draft deep for O-linemen?

It seems like Scott M. is better than 5-7th round most years, IMHO

To answer your thread title, my draft pick for my team(Philly) is to trade up and take Mike Williams if he falls out of the top 10(doubtful), Mark Clayton, Travis Johnson DT FSU, or Khalif Barnes/Jammal Brown

I like the Merriman pick ... after the Browns score a big deal with Philly to trade down.
golfertk14 wrote:2. Who goes #1 in the draft?
Rodgers
golfertk14 wrote:3. Magner: Which round?
N/A - Magner goes UDFA, to the Jets.

Scott M. is the first and only Falcon to get drafted. I'm pegging him 6th the Bengals.

This is an extremely deep draft for O-lineman IMO. I agree totally. Scott should be a steal for whoever drafts him.

It is deep for interior lineman but not that deep for tackles

I disagree, Alex Barron from Florida State, and Adam Terry from Syracuse, (The two tallest O-lineman available I believe) both have a chance to go in the first round, and will both be off the board by the mid second round. Overall, this may be the year of the offensive lineman, ala the 1983 QB's.

2 guys doesn't make a draft deep for tackles.

Next year will be a much better draft for OT's.
