Back to this thread's topic, note that Maisel also has Boise and Wisc at 19 and 20, both ahead of us. If we could beat two top twenty teams on the road, we could move up in the polls pretty quickly. 8)

You'r right, we could be in uncharted territory as early as week four. If we could get past Boise without losing the top 10 would not be far away. However, this is entails a couple huge road wins and I'm not so sure Wisconsin will be a top 20 team. It's going be tough but with that being said I fully expect us to be 3-0 heading into October. High hopes.

This schedule which could launch us into BCS territory or give us another 3-loss season. I also expect to be 3-0, though - our BCS history is great, and Omar gives us an edge against Boise....I hope (more worried about BSU than Wisconsin, honestly.)

Yeah Boise looks like it will be our toughest game by far at this point. They rarely lose at home, we will be playing in an unfamilar place, and it is on the other side of the country. Scoring records may be broken in that game.

BTW Falcon30, did you grow up in Elyria? Born and raised there myself.

Wonderful to see such a large representation of mid-majors in there.
BG, Boise, Wyoming, Fresno all in the top 25 of the 'experts.' Also nice seeing Louisville - yet another mid-major - sitting in the preseason top ten! Could this be the year we bust through and start tearing apart this BCS nonsense? Keep your fingers crossed

True that Louisville was a mid-major, but coming into this season they're part of the BCS machine. Rage against the machine!

Eh, that is probably a good thing, I lived on the East side for all but one year of my childhood when I lived in KY. I was never a big fan of Elyria. I was happy when I parents moved to Sheffield.

I agree...I think we CAN be 3-0 after 3 weeks but that Boise State game is gonna be a severe test. Wisky will be a challenge but I expect BG to win that game by 10-13 points.

Wisky a top 20 team? No way...not at this point. But if it will help our SOS, they are.

I think if we go undefeated this year that we have a good chance at doing what Utah did and be a BCS Buster, our schedule is more difficult than theirs was last year, but they just took it one game at a time and got through their tough early road games and stayed focused on their "easy" games and made it, i think we should get the confidence that they had and go for it! Look at our schedule as an opportunity instead of uh oh, also Omar could pull an Alex Smith and be drafted 1st overall :D , i know that may seem like really wishful thinking, but its not going to happen if we dont BELIEVE, especially in our defense!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

I said it at the end of the season last year, BG vs. USC in whatever bowl game is behind the National Championship!! Florida will be playing for the National Championship against someone like Oklahoma but USC will lose a game and play us. Omar will destroy Leinart and BG will be golden...have faith!!

I agree.

In fact, in retrospect, I think we would have had an outside shot at the (so-called) national title game in 2003 had we won 'em all.

That could have been said about two MAC teams. (They BOTH got Bowl bids in '03.) STUPID IOWA! :(
