High Marks for Recruiting Class
Hoopscoop
Clark francis is the hoopscoop guy...he ranks on numbers like each player gets a 1-6 or something like that and adds them together so it's about both quality and quantity from what I understand...having said that the WMU rankins were from a while back and DD has pulled some nice players in relative recent time frame.

Dan Dakich is in the movie "Blue Chips."falconman wrote:Can anyone say "Blue Chips", not to start any speculation, but that's the first thing that came to my mind after our ok season last year and now a #35 class this year. Except, I'm sorta with option on this, I'm not so sure how accurate this is.

Football does NOT use average. They assign a star ranking to every player, and they add up the total stars to figure out who has the best recruiting class. They generally publish the "average star" rating as well, but when the classes are ranked its always by total stars.falconman wrote:I believe when they figure these they use an average just like in Football. This is defintely great news for the bball team, this news just got me jacked for this upcoming year.Warthog wrote:Is the high ranking due to quality or quantity?
That's why the teams that win the recruiting wars in football are always the teams that have 20-25 scholarships to give. Its just impossible to keep up with the total star count if you're only bringing in 15 new guys.

GREAT!
Now lets see if they make it pass their freshman season. :-\ This ranking is nice but will mean nothing if these player dont' either gel together or can't take DD's tough coaching and/or our at times boring offense. On paper this lookks like a very good class, but I'm not counting on anything just yet. I could easily see Clements taking over for Floyd with his size. We need an athletic pg who is quick and can attack the basket. Maybaye this new talent will make our offense looks more interesting.
