We may be able to pencil in a W vs. Boise

Post by 1987alum »

So Mrs. 87 and I are tooling around this weekend and we get to talking about cars & money. Long story short - she has been working on a "surprise" that will cost a fair bit of change; I say "surprise" because there are some things you simply can't hide from a journalist.

Anyway, she is attempting, in a thinly veiled (so she thinks) way about this surprise and our financial situation. I told her that I hated to see us spend a lot of money on something for me that I would deem selfish; for example, I said, I'd rather spend some money on flying me & Noah out to Boise to see the game this year - a chance to see the Smurf Turf in person, a great road trip, etc.

"You know, I really don't know why you just don't do that," she said in passing, before more thinly veiled discussion about the upcoming surprise.

So I've been clicking away, putting together some prices on a trip to Boise, figuring out how much school Noah would need to miss. We're visiting my folks in Florida this fall, plus a trip to the Outer Banks this summer ... then there's the must-have trip to BG and, of course, a bowl game to consider ... OK, so it's a longshot. But she is the one who suggested it, so it's at least worth a shot, right?

Anyway, what a test for The Streak it would be!

Between you two, myself, and some of my friends, I'm sure we can make some noise for BG!!

WE are so there. It would be great to have our good luck charm (NOAH) to start off the season.

Is this game on TV? Blue turf and the snakeman.....(I read the other posts!) Man that would be u-g-l-y.
ROLL ALONG!

Dude, the "Door is Open", time to bust through it and make the trip....heck, how did you think you got to see me and Legacy Boy* in Mobile. Over three nights last December I went from hearing "No" to "You really shouldn't to"..."You promise to be careful with him".

Besides turnabout is fair play....ya' keep saying you shouldn't spend money on excessive things, but you know what, how did all of those shoes get on her side of the closet?

J-Swoop:

Sadly, the odds are starting to take a turn for the worse, for a number of reasons, few of them having to do with my wife. It's looking more and more like Ohio & a bowl are all that we'll be able to do this year. :(
