Wouldn't surprise me a bit. Dez had trouble breaking into the Bears receiving core and when he finally did, he was an average receiver at best. The only thing that I can think of that might save his spot is that he is a former Georgia Tech player which likely makes him somewhat of a favorite in Hotlanta.BGSU-Ph.D. wrote:I've been scanning the Atlanta Falcons message boards and many of the posters think Dez White might be gone before too long.

I had heard rumblings that Dez White was not long for Atlanta and that Peerless Price was losing favor with the coaching staff, too. That being said, I wonder how many rookie receivers Atlanta will keep.
Cole would seem to fit well with Atlanta; they like to mix up their personnel quite a bit and Cole is nothing if not versatile.
Noah's take - it's cool that Cole is from Alaska and will be playing for Atlanta; they both begin with A. Plus, he's still a Falcon. Yes, life is simple when you're 7.

Cole's chances of making the roster just got a little better.

Jimmy Farris - WR - ATL
Falcons released WR Jimmy Farris, S Siddeeq Shabazz and T Steve Stewart.
Another first round wideout (Roddy White) made the wide receiver group too crowded for Farris. Apr. 28 - 10:44 am et

If nothing more, he got the free Falcon stuff.

Every team is required to have one caucasian "possession" receiver on their roster. Guess it is looking good for Cole right now.BGDrew wrote:Hm, Cole looks a little....how to put this....out of place in that picture...

Out of place??? Carrying on that fine tradition, after all how many Alaskan's play football on the Gulf Coast 3 days before Christmas.
Man I still dig that replay of him finishing off his YAC's (yards after catch) putting his head into a Memphis Tiger, having his helmet pop off, and he puts it back on like nothing ever happened. Same drive as Omar stiff arming a guy onto his back, and finished off by a Coach Stud special..."well if there blitzing like that I'll just have Pope delay in the backfield until the wave passes and he'll coast into the end zone after he catches Omar's lob....on two ready Break!"
Can you tell ....I am crawling the walls...4 MORE Months!

That drive was the best. I've watched Omar's stiff arm on that Memphis kid so many times and it NEVER gets old. Neither does the reaction of Devon Parks and some of the other D players....they were jazzed with that stiff arm.
I can tell you this...watch replays of games in the past and the next 4 months will not be as bad. I think I have 30-35 games on tape and it helps!! Now, breathe....one....two....three....
GO FALCONS! 122 days to go.
