All I am saying is if we think every one of our coaches here consider BGSU their "dream job" then we are crazy. Wish him well and we can get back to kicking Wisconsin's badger butt. Look on the bright side, at lease Beckman didn't end up in Madison.

Actually, I hope the Bowling Green job *IS* somebody's dream job. It would show exactly how far we've come. While I certainly don't expect it, I think the program has taken great strides to turn into more of a destination than a stepping stone.

I also hope that if it *is* someone's dream job, they handle the exit interviews with a little more respect for the fans, players and everyone else they're leaving behind.
But I am sure no one on this site knows anything about that

I'm of largely Scottish and German descent. I defy you to find two more disagreeable nationalities in all of Europe. Therefore, I claim the right to react angrily against every percieved slight as a part of my heritage.

In other words, if I should offend anyone, don't blame me, blame my parents...or their parents. Or the Pope, we were Catholics and birth control was a definite no no. Of course, playing grab ass with 10 year old boys is a no no also but tht didn't stop a number of priests now did it?

I'm sorry...what were we talking about?

Ah yes Beckman...man, that guy turned out to be a real dick

I figured as much. But I'm still not a llama.

Or an alpaca, for that matter. :D

It's funny, we were ready to throw Krebs a farewell party had he accepted his "dream job."

What does someones "dream job" and the amount Beckman is making at OSU have to do with each other?? I didn't make that correlation.

How about if we just move on and get our new DC in place? I liked Beck and still do. Dumb Ass comment to make in the paper? You bet. But ya gotta keep in mind that Beck and Tressel's fathers coached together at Baldwin-Wallace....there is a connection. The $$$ is obviously better. We all know we have trouble paying our assistant coaches good money.
The Buckeye arrogance must have rubbed off on Beck real easily.
Bowling Green Football is no chump anymore and folks all over the ocuntry know it. We have a damn good program here. And after we run the table and win the MAC and Rose Bowl here in a few months, we'll be even better. :D

What's done is done. I hope Coach Ward gets the job...I feel he would do a better job than Coach Bowers, IMO. From today's Blah...

"Brandon said John Bowers, defensive backs coach, and Mike Ward, defensive tackles coach, are candidates to replace Beckman as defensive coordinator. Ward has been a positions coach for five years with BGSU and Bowers for four."

Let's move on...coaches pull this stunt every year at all kinds of places. It won't change anything to rip on this guy...we have to make sure we have our house in order for the Badgers and beyond.

You know, it really is a sad day when we have people on this "Classy" sight calling someone who gave the program a lot of his time, energy, and dedication for 7 years profane names. It doesn't matter what your belief about BG and OSU are, sometimes people say things that other people percieve as wrong. But I really find it out of line to start calling Coach Beckman names. As a coach myself, it really is getting very frustrating and upsetting at how some of you can't be happy and are always complaining about a coach doing this or not doing that. My God, it is hard enough to do all the things that are going to make you successful year in and year out, but to have to listen to all the crap that some of what are supposed to be your supporters are saying, that is BS. I have heard nothing but great things about Coach Beckman, and you cannot call a guy any name for taking a job that he considers a dream, or even a payraise. Criticizism is one thing, but name calling is way uncalled for. I say good luck and thank you for all you've done with our program.

But our fans aren't dicks.

An awful lot of Ohio State fans are dicks.
I don't know who you consider BG fans, but I know a few that are dicks. Every school has them and to say BG does not is turning a blind eye to our fan base. Good for Beckman for getting to the job he sees as his "dream job." I just wonder if these comments would all be surfacing if he had went to any other Ohio school. Or, is it simply because he went to Ohio State. If that is the case then all I have to say is "how sad."

No.

Ok, I'll elaborate...What's irritated most people (67% of Americans according to the latest Fox Opinion Dynamics poll) is Dickman's...I mean Beckman's assertion that coaching at OSU is "every kid in Ohio's dream job". If he wants to call it "his" dream job, I don't think there'd be a problem.

There's a number of people (at least 67%) who get tired of the whole "THE" Ohio State University trip and all the crapola that goes along with the smug "we get all the money because God and the Taft family loves us" sense of entitlement that exists at that nice little cow college at the state capitol.

Yeah, that's right Timmy...there's one college in the whole fricking state that everyone wants to be a part of and no one is fulfilled until God himself
taps you on the shoulder and tells you it's your time to shine...you get to be a BUCKEYE at last. The rest of world is just marking time until that glorious moment occurs.

Screw that

And while you're at it, take a look at what's been posted on this board over the past two years, ( not you specifically, you in general) you won't find a more staunch defender of he who became dickish's abilities as a coach than myself.

So there you have it. I called him a dick because he said something stupid that really rubbed me the wrong way and because it's one of those grade school insults that sounds so stupid no one could take it seriously. I could have called him a "homo"...but I don't go there with people.

Congratulations Coach Beckman. Thank you for your time and efforts here. I'm glad you are going to a job and a school you perceive to be "ideal."

Best of luck to you and youf family.
