Glen Sharp (correct name, sp?) Locker Room Campaign

Post by Salsa »

As a warm up to this weekend's events/announcements, can anyone provide information about our locker rooms at the Doyt?

The new Northern Illinois end zone building will include locker rooms for both home and visiting teams. My understanding is that our Sebo Center will not. Rather there is a fundraising campaign which has been underway for a couple of years to upgrade the locker rooms in the East side of the Doyt, at least the Falcon locker room. My recollection is that this campaign is in the name of Glen Sharp ("Sharpie") former equipment manager for many, many years.

In fact, there used to be a reference to this campaign on the BGSU Sports website. But I don't see it there anymore.

Can anyone provide information about this?

Is this "big" news ever coming or what? Should I get out the champagne?

My guess would be an announcement about the Sebo center. As far as the locker room project goes, I believe the annual golf tournament is the big fundraiser it uses.

The way I understood it was that within Sebo Center construction, the locker rooms would be renovated and somehow connected to the new building.

Don't know if it was a Phase II type of thing, but I know they mentioned the locker room renovation at the first unveiling of "THE BOB".

Yeah....it is part of the project and the SAC is connected to the east stands. I am still trying to grasp how that will look....

I believe the old locker room will be expanded to include what is now the training room in the stadium.
