I would LOVE for us to go 10-1 this season, win the MAC and get an at large bowl bid that pits us against the Utes.

Uh, did you say 'Utes'?

Yeah, two utes.

What is a ute?

Oh, excuse me, your honor. Two YOUTHS...

Motown: Good call on the movie scene!

Unfortunately, even as the 10-1 MAC champions (I guess we'd be 11-1 after the title game), the best we'd get is still the GMAC Bowl - witness Miami last year. Doesn't Convict USA have the other berth to that bowl?

87alum-

I spose I was agreeing for the most part. Though I still believe that we will never be treated as an equal to the "big" schools in regards to rankings and such. I was jsut throwing out some other problems that are just rediculous, liek 6-6 kansas getting a bowl game and NIU not.....

if we go 11-1, runnign the MAC like that, I think we would have a good shot at gettign an at large bid to a middle of the road bowl. Now, as I jsut said though, odds are we'll get screwed, and when GMAC give an early invite, its hard to turn down a sure bowl bid b4 the season ends....... But you never know, GB may just be the guy with the guts to do it, adn hold out for a better bowl??????

'87, good point...However, we do have the history of bringing 50k to the MCB...So hopefully if we have a strong showing this year at the ol' ticket booth, we might have a shot...B/c you know, college football is all about the almighty dollar... :?

Yes...But remember last year when we were all going crazy on the old boards about us maybe not getting the MCB bid? It was actually Chryst trying to shop us and NIU for another bowl...This year, maybe it could work.

If a team loses generally they fall. Excpetions exist, maybe had we lost 40-34 it might be different. I think that 40-24 defeat may look a lot better after OU destroys some other teams. It will work itself out after we pull off ten straight games and win the west.
