If Wisconsin comes out as a 2 TD or more favorite, I'm gonna put a couple hundy on us, I think.

without a doubt. i would easily put big money on that line. then again, i'm the guy who bet the money line when BG beat purdue. that was a huge payday for me.

also, if the over/under on the boise game is anything less than 80, i'm taking the over on that game.

I read the Wisconsin spring wrap-up on ESPN this morning. Based on that information, we should win in a route. Thier QB returns, but he looked really mediocre this spring. But the backups were even worse so they are stuck with him. On defense, they return only four starters. The LBs are weak. The DBs are all new, with the best one coming off of knee surgery. 8) That sounds like a formula for Omar to light them up for about 450 yards and six or seven TDs. It would be hilarious to beat them like 52 - 17 or something. :partyman: :drinkers: :supz:

Warthog, I went to the OSU-Wisconsin game last season when my boss gave me his tickets.

You cannot understand how truly awful the Wisconsin QB is until you see him live. He looked like a deer in headlights, although I believe he was a FR, replacing Sorgi.

I'm still not confident in our ability to stop him. Their defense last year was very good, but they lost a lot of talent off of it, especially the front 4. They always have a stout defense, though, so I do expect us to have some troubles scoring. I wouldn't expect more than 35 points.

I think a score like that is definitely within reason. I don't think any of their fans realize just how good our offense will be. I could see us coming out flat or jittery for a possession or two but I don't see them holding us down long. I suspect their defense to be good by the end of the season but they will not be in week 1.

You might as well, it's only a one game suspension.

Let's not start getting crazy with score predctions. Remember, they still have [historically] a very good o-line. I could run 100yrds behind them.

They WILL be able to control the clock because they will probably grab 3 yards at a crack just running.

Also, don't underestimate Barry Alvarez. He's a decent coach who will have his boys ready to play.

I think we win, but it won't be by more than 10.

Hey, I didn't make a score prediction. Just said it would be fun to beat them that bad.

Yes, Alvarez is a pretty decent coach, but they lost a ton of guys on defense. We should be able to take advantage of that. And yes, they will probably try to run the ball 50+ times just to keep our offense off the field. I hope our Def Coord run blitzes like crazy to stop them becasue JJ and Mayberry will be able to shut down their WRs.

Well, now this opens an interesting discussion.

Should we stack the box to stop the run or the usual 4-3?

Side note WH: I know what you said, I just wanted to shut the flood gates to fantasyland before they opened.

Correct on all points...but, they are not going to be good enough to beat BG. I think we win by 14...

I think we try to stop the run game at all costs. This is typically where we lose games or have close games over the past couple seasons. (OSU and Northwestern in 03, Oklahoma and NIU in 04). I think we all know that they will be able to move the ball on us on the ground unless we make an extra effort to stop it. Let their unproven QB prove himself before we start worrying about the pass. Even if they are able to create some big plays which they probably will, I would rather have that, then situation we had at Oklahoma where they took 9-10 minutes off the clock running 3-5 yards on every play.

BG vs Wisky

Post by Falconboy »

If we are able to stop the run more effectively than we've been able to in the past, it will be cuz of us bulking up the interior d-lineman. This is where RS Freshman or maybay their sophs. Nick Davis and Brandon Curtis who both went 6'3 and 280 right out of HS come in. They both should be close to 295 or 300lbs I hope by the end of summer workouts. So maybaye will see a little more stoutness to our run D. If this Wisky qb is that mediocre then we should blitz the heck out of him. We need a monster pass rush as well. I'd love to see Willams come off the end and smack their qb a couple of times. :D
