Spectacular headline in today's Blade

Post by Schadenfreude »

"Analysts spring ahead to fall"

"Ohio State, Michigan, BGSU expected to be among elite teams"

How many years have we been waiting for ink like that? Woah, Nellie!

Nice write-up. I never thought I would see the day that our name would appear with the bigger budget teams.

As an aside, this should about kill the UT fan come Blade conspiracy theorist.

Hopefully a big impact. Just imagine if we were 3-0 going into the Temple game (which I'm hoping we will be). There could be a big change from last years attendance. And I'm not trying to beat a dead horse.

I'll repeat an earlier comment. I think this is the year to launch a BIG CAMPAIGN to increase season ticket sales. If we could accomplish a significant increase, it would be a huge boost to the program.

What would a meaningful goal be? I'd love to reach 10,000 season ticket sales. That's probably hoping for too much.

Season ticket sales should be through the roof this year given all of the current hype and ridiculous stats Omar put up last year. The rather pathetic schedule (outside of Toledo) may keep some people away from season tickets, but I can't imagine that it would hurt too much.

I'm really sorry to bring the Suckeyes into this discussion, but they do have a bye on 10/1, so even the 1/2 BG, 1/2 OSU fans should be at the Doyt against Temple. If we're 3-0, 10/1 better be a sellout.

I would try to work that quote -- attributed to The Blade, of course -- into an awful lot of promotional material BGSU already does: Posters, season ticket promotional materials, letters to students.

It's one hell of a headline.

I remember seeing that the last time I was at home. Awesome work. Its out a little ways, north of town, but was pretty funny and cool at the same time. I forget the road it was off of... Bishop, perhaps?

And btw, that headline is awesome. Though it would be better if it took a straight BG angle off the top, and fill it in with "Oh yeah, OSU and Michigan are picked to be in the top 10, etc." at the end. I don't think there's been this kind of hype 4 or 5 months before a season for a MAC team in quite some time.

The photo looks like the lake near the rec center. Anyone who runs on that track should have seen it...just watch out for the goose droppings.
