BG Grad working for Miami Heat....

Post by Falconboy »

Ron Culp from '68 is working as the head athletic trainer for the Heat. Just thought you all might interested. I just happened to see it while looking over the Heat roster. Former BG grads are everywhere! :D

Another BG grad, Jason Jackson does pregame and postgame duties for the Miami Heat tv broadcasts.

Thanks for the info on Ron -- I lost track of him years ago. I'm glad to hear he's still in the business. He was one of the last to be tutored under Al Sawdy, BGSU long-time trainer, who also "did time" with U.S. Olympic teams many moons ago.

Why is that name familiar? I feel like I should know it for some reason.

yep Ron Culp and Jason Jackson are former BG grads. We used to have a former BG coach Marc Iavaroni (now with Phoenix). And I go to BG, and I work for the Heat in the summer if that counts for anything!

Perhaps your thinking of Jonathan Culp? If that's not it, here is Ron Culp's bio if this helps you to figure out if you know Ron Culp from elsewhere.

We have another BG grad working in the Charlotte Bobcats' front office as well. He isn't as popular as most of these other grads, but he was in marching band for a few years! Go Seth Roberts!!

I knew that Seth had an internship with the Chicago Bulls in ticket sales and was doing a real good job. Any idea what he's doing with the Bobcats?

I don't know exactly what he's doing but I do know he has been down there since his internship working for them. He must be doing something right! :D The next time I get a chance to talk to him, I will find out for you.

By the way I'd love to talk to him or someone in the marketing field, I'm considering a major in Sports Marketing or just plain ol' Marketing..

I could probably get you a # later in the summer, I work with his daughter at the Heat Summer Basketball Camps. Either that, or go to heat.com and e-mail guest services, they usually respond pretty quickly.
