So when does the new schedule come out for the BG Icers?

Usually around July, but I'm sure there are rumors floating about. Season Tix holders always seem to have a good idea of who BG will be playing well before the schedule is official.

By the way as a side note, Siglett was a senior this year right? Who might be his successor?

Yes, Jordan Sigalet was a senior. They have a kid named Jimmy Spratt who's coming in. From what I hear, he and Horrell will likely battle for the no. 1 spot early on.

Jonathan Sigalet was a sophomore, so he won't have a successor, at least not this season.

We're usually among the last to get our schedules out in print, so I've been watching the schedules for our opponents.

U-Conn just posted their schedule last week, and the pairings for their holiday tournament are:
Thurs 12/29 4:00 BG vs Mass-Anhurst, 7:15 Army vs Conn
Friday 12/30 4:00 consolation 7:15 championship

For what it's worth, Delta flies non-stop from Columbus to Hartford
$223, round trip.

Not to mention HOME games against Boston College, Merrimack, Colgate, Clarkson, St Lawrence, RIT.

Frazee has always been the 3rd string. However, I still think Horrell is the starter with the new guy fighting with Frazee for the back-up spot.

I doubt it. Like Jordan, this kid is coming in already drafted and will give Horrell all that he can handle in the battle for the starting nod on game night. Don't get me wrong, Horrell proved himself to be a very capable goalie this year but I'm not convinced that he'll be able to hold on to the starting spot the entire year. He may begin the season there, but, much like Masters, he may be watching more than playing at the end of the season.

Then, again, I may very well be proven wrong....either way, Falcon Hockey wins.

Yes. That's why he's a "new guy".

I wasn't real sure how the NCAA deemed his status since he's played semi-pro.

Hmmm... I'm sure if it were really "semi-pro" they'd be pretty quick to declare his status. Or at least he had been taking paychecks.

As it is, your eligibility clock starts when you start taking classes. As long as BG is the first university he plays for, he's a true freshman. That's how guys like Chris Weinke played college football until they were 26 or so. Most of 'em played minor league baseball out of HS, when they found out they couldn't cut it, they went to college. Even if they were 75 years old, they'd still be freshmen.

Not sure how it would work if a player went to college for a year, dropped out to play (but not for pay in the same sport) and came back. As far as I've learned it, though, you have five years to play four from the minute you set foot on campus as a student.

Who played semi-pro? None of the guys coming in could have played "semi-pro" hockey or they wouldn't eligible to play at the collegiate level. I am confused about your statement.

He wouldn't be playing Juniors right now if he'd play'd semi-pro. Where are you getting your info?

Jimmy Spratt plays in the USHL which is a Junior A league.
