Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't remember us playing teams like Colgate and St. Lawrence, as well as UMASS or Clarkson. So whats up? I'm not too familiar with how the team gets scheduled.

Those are all non-league so they vary each year.

The big non-leaguer I see for this year is a HOME game vs. Boston College. That should be exciting. Hopefully an early season sell-out. I think everyone is looking for big things this year out of the hockey team!!

It kind of sucks that there's no football/hockey doubleheaders, especially having a game like this in October when it would make for a HUGE homecoming weekend, with the return of Jerry York and all.

Then again, maybe its best that a game like this doesn't have football to compete with, and can make for an event to get folks out to the Ice Arena without having to keep them going after a football game.

What's with all the weekday games? Don't they know how hard it is to make it to them?

Yeah, that's a good question. I REALLY miss the women's bball games right before the men's on Saturday's and then hockey games those same nights. It makes a great day for families to spend in BG if they don't mind watching sporting events!

I devote those days/weekends to just sports and I love it. Just thinking about it makes me excited for the seasons to get started.

Isn't the CCHA Super 6 a thing of the past?

I thought they voted to return it back to a final four because of horrible Thursday attendance at The Joe.

They did. The schedule is right, the name just needs to be changed when the CCHA finally comes up with one.

I like the schedule too! I like it that we have a LOT of home games!!!! We have 21 (counting the exhibition game) and we had 16 last year!! Did you also notice that, except for the Christmas tourney, all of our non-conference games are AT HOME?!?!!! How cool is that?!?!!!

We even get Duh Mavs here....finally!!!

Here's the official write up on the schedule. Great to have former Falcons coming back as coaches (Roll & Wilson from the '84 team, along with Jerry York, who coached that team)!!

(Btw, Freak, the season starts in 140 days!!! Because I knew you would ask!! )

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I love that UConn is playing Army in the first game and leaving BG and UMass to fight it out between themselves. I practically guarantee that the winner of the BG/UMass game will win the tournament.

I would LOVE to go to this tournament since its close, but I will be unable to attend, as we're in our own tournament. But its a good one and I'll get to see family :) So I'm almost not bitter about missing the Falcons this upcoming season.

Oh, come on...tell the truth...you're a LITTLE upset that you can't see the Falcons play this coming year...admit it!!

Oh, definitely. That's why I said ALMOST not bitter.
I'm still bitter about it, but a trip to Marriucci smooths that over better than a stupid game against Niagara (which is what prevented me from making Day 2 of the Dartmouth tournament last season).
