'87Alum is an editor/contributor to with PhillyBurbs.com Every Now and then he posts and article he's written. The comment wasn't about what you posted, but rather just about Phillyburbs in general and '87s association with it.
PGY & UK:

Thanks for carrying the ball for me while I was out of circulation.

FWIW, I'm the General Manager of phillyBurbs.com and proud to say that we were the first major media outlet in Philly to call the Temple deal "officially done."

And I took UK's comment to be Gospel, of course.

It's gradually happening.

The state has allowed Miami to charge Ohio residents the full cost of an education -- in other words, out-of-state tuition. The rate is $21,410 this year.

Miami then turns around and uses state aid to offer every Ohio student a $4,800 Ohio Resident Scholarship and an Ohio Leader Scholarship worth between $5,150 and $7,850. The latter scholarship varies based on academic achievement and need.

The Miami tuition system echoes the private model somewhat.

I don't know when it went into AFFECT. I think it went into EFFECT a couple years ago.

Actually, I have no clue, nor do I care what Miami(OH) does, I just wanted to be the first to jump on the grammar grenade.

And it has had an impact on their enrollment. For the second year in a row, it appears Miami (OH) is going to experience a decline in freshmen enrollment by approximately 200 students.

I know its heresy at ol' BG, but growing enrollment isn't always the mark of a good university.

However - I think it is part of a positive trend at BGSU.

Unless of course it is something the university is trying to achieve. That and if the average test scores are not decreasing than growing enrollment would indicate that more people are choosing the university. Increases in student population can lead to increases in federal and state funds. However I agree that if the Univ, doesn't do its part to upgrade facilities and increase the number and quality of its faculty then increased enrollment might not be a good thing.
On the flip side, decreasing enrollment with out and increase in admission requirements and incoming class acheivements would indicate that fewer people are choosing to attend that Univ, for whatever reasons.

Everything I'm hearing in Bowling Green, Kentucky is that MAC deal will be happening and very soon, before June 30th.

I just hope everything that makes the MAC appealing for WKU stays!

BTW- Very nice forum here. You've actually made Brown and Orange attractive haha.

Great news galojay. Glad to have you here. Since I am now living in Lexington, I am pretty excited to see WKU join the map. I would love to head over there for games. Keep us posted on anything else you hear.
