1-Who will back up Omar at QB in the SEMO game?
I hope we don't see Anthony Taylor. There may be a new factor, though. A committee has recommended to the NCAA that players in all college sports be given 5 years eligibility. If this passes, playing Taylor might be a plus.
2-What true freshmen played in the Oklahoma game?
The BG athletic department statistics showed only one--Peter Winovich. If that's true, I think it's good.
3-What aspects of BG's total game did Coach Brandon not use in the
Oklahoma game? One significant one appears to be using Omar in our running attack. Anything else?
4-Does everyone agree that our kicking game looked good in the
Oklahoma game?
5-Would anyone have predicted that Omar would not be sacked once in the
Oklahoma game? I think this bodes very well for the rest of the year? Add to this that he fared well against a very strong pass rush and threw no interceptions
6-Does anyone doubt that after the way we played against Oklahoma, we
should develop strongly as the year progresses and become a very good team? I think we have a chance to be better than last year.

Re: Some Questions
We didn't see Cole throw the ball. We didn't see Omar go in motion and line up at wide receiver. I don't recall seeing any direct snaps to the running back.Salsa wrote:What aspects of BG's total game did Coach Brandon not use in the Oklahoma game? I expect Coach Brandon's going to wait until the NIU game before he unleashes the full offense.

3. I was surprised to not really see much use of James Hawkins. I think he may have had one catch in the 2nd half. I did notice that we lined up with two backs (pope and lane) once in the shotgun. I don't ever remember seeing that. I would like to see more of that. To me having both of those guys in at the same time would be quite a threat.
4. The kicking game was sound. Its good to see Suisham kicking it to the back of the EZ. I can remember when he would never get a kick anywhere near the EZ. And that FG had to give him a ton of confidence. However, I was dissappointed that we allowed Perkins to get that one long punt return. We were lucky that was not a TD.
5. To me Omar looked great. If he could do that against OU I can't wait to see what he can do against the other OU
6. Based on the rest of what is suppose to be the top teams in the MAC I think things look very good for use. That game in NIU looks like the toughest game of the season to me. They played the terps tough again on Maryland's field. Too bad they couldn't get that one. Personally before this year began I thought this team would be better than last years and I still think so

I am a huge fan of the two back with the stellar RB's we have and of James Hawkins, he is very under used.
I will say that I am very amazed that Winovich played, but leave it at that.
