That Miami game sticks out on our schedule. We're probably going to have to win that one to win the East. Beating a good MAC team on the road is the final hurdle for this team.
The last two weeks of the season are going to be insane. Miami on the road and UT at home.
I hope the Freak is working on some relaxation techniques because things could get awfully hairy.
Miami and UT back to back? That's what its all about!! That is big time title stretch and I'm looking forward to that.
My thoughts? Obviously, we could lose to Wisky, Miami, Boise and UT...we could lose to other teams if we aren't focused.
But after falling short of the MAC Title the last 3 years, I feel there is such a powerful drive to get it done. The Sebo Center is coming....recruits are committing very early, this program is on a roll. We need that title...period.
And BG is good enough to win it all.
I think we'll beat Wisky by 14 pts...Boise concerns me greatly. That will be another chance for them to make a statement as well as BG. And they are tough as nails on that turf. @Miami will be a dogfight...or shall I say Bird War. It is a game that the program must win. I'm tired of losing these huge MAC road games. Plus, more than likely it will be for the East title.
We will beat UT...they can't win in our house either.
I love UK's outlook...UNDEFEATED. It is so difficult to win every game. 1, 2 maybe 3 teams do it every year.
Honestly, I see us losing 2 games at the most. 10-1 with a loss at Boise is what I'm going with....but not ruling out the possibilty of running the table.
I think we'll win the East, the MACC and our 3rd straight bowl game. BG finishes in the Top 15 at 12-1.
But let's start with one game at a time.
BG 41, Wisky 27....it happens in 99 days.

If people have to wait while somebody probes every single hot-dog for proper temps as they did for the spring football game (east side, yo) they'll be a riot.

Probably because those people are looking at the history. Seems like we haven't beaten Miami since the Reagan Administration...they've owned us.BGSU-Ph.D. wrote:I'm not sure why so many of you are so pessimistic about our chances to beat Miami.
Combine that with our propensity for clunkers on the road (NIU in '04 & '02, UT 2nd half '04 & all of '02, Miami in '03, etc). In the past few seasons we've had a tough time even making a game close on the road against the best in the MAC.

What people are forgetting here in BG is back in the East. If we lose to Miami, then I dont think BG will be in the chamipnship game. We would have one loss in the MAC EAST. Do you see Miami losing to anyone else in the EAST, I dont. That said, Miami will win the East if we do not beat them. A loss to Miami means no East Title, No championship game, and with a 12 game added to schedules, more than likely the MAC will only get 2 bowl bids, and it may go to the East & West winners, leaving BG out.
I hope this is not the case but it could be.
So to settle out these doubts, let just go undefeated and play in the Rose Bowl this year.

I was just kidding & too lazy to look up the actual year...I knew that was an exaggeration, and was hoping it was obvious.UK Peregrine wrote:Come on hammb, give BG a little credit. '05 Predictions.......
I don't make them. I've never liked making them. I'll just say there are 3 games that we have 50% chance of losing. Wisky, Boise, and Miami. We havent beaten the Redhawks in like forever. The main key for us this year will be if our defense is better than last year. Our offense shouldn't stutter at all. If new DC Lovett really improves our D this year, we should beat Wisky. We also should beat Boise but probably by a very slim margin. Miami could be the ultimate test, a team we havent' beat in a looooonnnng time and on the road again. Its time to win a big MAC game on the road. We have yet to do that. We can't wait until we have all of our big Mac games at home all the time. And the key to doing that will be a much more stout defense than what we've had in the past. A very stout D would've saved us last year at UT. Thats what OSU has done , when their offense sputters their D picks up consideralbly and saves the day for them. In our case its been all offense or we don't win agianst the tough Mac teams on the road.
