not true. dr. toney's first year with the fmb with my first and only year (1999). somehow, i think some stories got crossed, for nothing else but to make hu-to's legend seem nothing short of ogreish. (i'm not sure what everyone has against the guy, but that's another topic for another day.)
ANYWHO, if i remember correctly, a year or two before, drs. moss and ribeau decided that the band shouldn't play beer barrel at freshman convocation because a new freshman had been either injured or killed in a drunk driving accident.

I really hope that was a sarcastic comment because we bust out and sing in the middle of it everytime we play it...

Point 1: If Louie Louie is so bad, here's a list of other songs that shouldn't be played: Blister In the Sun, Hey Song, Hey Baby(I mean come on, he's asking the girl out in the song...that's just SINFUL)

Point 2: Not every band ruins Louie Louie. In fact, that was MY song in high school...because we played the version w/the trumpet solo...and I played it. *memories* tee hee. In all seriousness, my band probably sucked it up...but I sure felt special.

Sooner or later we won't be able to sing our own National Anthem because it's too patriotic or something. What is the world coming to?!

Actually, the tune to the SSB is an old English Drinking song. Under the premise that Louie Louie was banded, I don't think that we should play that. It promotes drinking. We should petition Congress to have the melody of the SSB changed!!!!

I think I agree with Leah, society is getting too polite, too soft, and too out of wack. Oh wait, retract that, I think I just offened someone.

We should ban songs like Blister in the Sun if for nothing else because they are boring and repetitive. There are several songs in our folders that just plain suck. I could list them, but I'm sure that all of you current FMB members know exactly the kind of songs that I am talking about.

Oh come on Lozer, we all love the songs that just take the crowd momentum out of sporting events! There is nothing like seeing our bball team go on a 10-0 run right into the band playing You Dropped a Bomb on Me :?

Speaking of getting the crowd revved up, whatever happened to the "Three Blind Mice" idea mentioned earlier in the year? (ie, the band plays the song when the refs come out)

There is plenty of time until a-band season to whip up a "crowd spam"-esque arrangement of "Three Blind Mice" to stuff into the flip folders. Maybe it could replace "September"... I love the actual song, but our arrangement of it is such a crowd spirit killer... not to mention less-than-exciting to play (which could be an understatement depending on which section you ask).

I LOVE September...and if I remember correctly, you have the same part we do...if they take out anything, take out the stuff we didn't play like Karate and whatever those other songs were we never/couldn't play. September rocks!
I think we'd get in trouble for playing 3 Blind Mice anyway...cuz that's kinda like...slanderish...I dunno.
